Home and overnight

We hoped into the car and headed towards my apartment.
"So. What brings you here YN?" she asks politely.
"Well, I've always wanted to play overseas and I got offered a contract here at Arsenal," I reply smiling.
"That's great!" She says encouragingly.
"Do you have any hobbies?" I ask.
"Not really, I normally unwind by cooking or reading. How about you?" She questions.
"I love music. I'm a guitarist and I can sing. I really enjoy it," I reply.

Soon enough, we arrive at my apartment. I unlock the door and Katie's face lights up.
"Wow YN. You are so good at decorating!" She says happily.
I show her around and help her carry some of her belongings to her bedroom.

"Would you like to watch a movie before we go to Beth and Viv's?" I ask.
"Absolutely. But I get to pick!" She says giggling.
I pass her the remote and sit down next to her.
She puts on the lion king.
"Wowww. Good taste," I say.
We begin watching the movie. Through the movie, we both start moving closer to each other. I rest my head on Katie's shoulder.
"Your comfy you know?" I smile at her.
"So are you," she looks into my eyes.
We keep watching the movies.
I feel an urge to cuddle up to her but I don't want her to be uncomfortable.
"YN.. could I cuddle you? I don't want you to be uncomfortable but I'm just used to cuddling with my ex." She says vulnerable.
My heart races and butterflies fly around my stomach. I nod my head and cuddle up to her. Her hand lays across my stomach.

Katie is gorgeous. I get so nervous cuddling her. I can feel her body heat and her breathing.
Soon enough, we both fall asleep on the couch.

Around an hour later, the movie has finished and I wake up. I am now facing Katie, cuddling up to her. My leg between her legs.
"Katie." I say gently.
I run my hand through her hair.
She starts to open her eyes.
"Oh. Sorry YN." She says
"It's fine. I fell asleep too." I reply easing her nerves.
"We need to get ready for the party Kay," I say.
"I love the nickname. Nobody ever calls me that," she says getting up.

We both head to our rooms and get changed. I wear a beautiful green dress. I wait patiently for Katie.
She comes out in a black blazer and pants. She looks absolutely stunning.
"YN. You look gorgeous," she says. Her eyes staring at my body.
"Not too bad yourself McCabe," I say making her blush.

We make our way over to Beth's. I put on a playlist and sing quietly.
"My god can you sing!" Katie says.
She hums along.

Eventually we arrive at Beth's.
As we walk up the driveway, I hear loud music and clinks of glasses.
We walk in to the sound of blaring music.
Katie and I part ways and talk to different people. Eventually, everyone made their way to the dance floor.
I sat and watched everyone in the distance. Somebody walked up behind me and taps me on the shoulder.
"May I?" Katie asks offering her hand.
I smile and hold her hand as she drags me to the dance floor.
We dance awkwardly together, keeping a distance between ourselves. We sway to the soft sound of the music. Katie puts her hands around my waist and pull me closer gently. We continue dancing together slowly and eventually we part ways.

Suddenly, the music stops. "TIME FOR A GAME OF TEAM TRUTH OR DARE," Beth shouts across the room. The game begins, Steph doing the first date of the night. "I dare you to eat a handful of dry pasta," Says Beth. Steph reluctantly eats the raw pasta. Eventually, it was my turn. "I dare you to sit next to the person in the room you are the closest with other than the Australians," Caitlin says.

I get up and move over to the small space between Katie and Leah. We continue playing truth or dare until everyone begins to get bored. "MOVIE TIMEEEE," shouts Kyra. Lia walti chooses the movie, we watch a horror movie. I hate horror, it scares me. Around 5 minutes into the movie, Katie wraps her arm around my shoulder, I cuddle gently into her side. The first jumpscare happens. I hurt my head into Katie's shoulder, she giggled softly. "You are safe, I promise," Katie says smiling at me.

I look over towards Beth and Viv who were making out on the couch. "Looks like they are enjoying themselves," I whisper at Katie quiet loudly. She giggles softly. The movie ends but I don't move, neither does Katie.

"You guys look comfortable over there," Steph says with a smirk. "I'm missing my ex Steph," Katie says with a sad expression. Steph eventually stops testing, understanding that Katie was struggling with her breakup.

"You guys are all welcome to stay here tonight, we've all been drinking and it's not safe to drive," Viv says. People begin to head to spare rooms to sleep. Katie, Leah, Steph and Me decided to sleep on the couch. As the lights went out, I struggled to sleep. A few hours past and my phone lit up. It was a message from my Mum.
"Hey sweetheart, I hope you are doing well at your new club, we miss you dearly, and miss seeing your beautiful self around the house. We love you," Says the text.

My eyes start to water. I miss my family so much. I got up off the couch to grab a drink of water. I stood at the counter drinking water when a figure appeared walking towards me. It was Katie. "I can't sleep," she says. I sniffle softly and tilt my head towards the floor. "Hey, hey, hey.. what's wrong," she asks before wrapping her arms around me to help support my weight. I bury my head into her shoulder and cry quitely. I felt so safe in Katie's arms. "I..I miss my family. My mum texted and I feel hopeless.." I whisper into Katie's Shoulder. She tightens her grip around me and whispers quietly into my ear. "It's going to be alright, we can call them in the morning, I'll be right by your side. I'm not going anywhere, I'm going to help you through this."

"Thank you Katie..," I say still sobbing in her arms. "Come stay with me on the couch," she says quietly. I follow her to the couch. She lays down and wraps her arms around me, making me comfortable and safe. She puts a blanket over us and whispers "I've got you. It's going to all be okay." These words made my heart melt. I love that she cared so much, even though she just met me.
