Training

"Katie," I yell as a jump onto her bed.
"You've got to wake up. We've got training in 20 minutes," I say.
She slowly opens her eyes and sits up.
"I'll get some breakfast going," I whisper before walking out.

I mixed together the ingredients for pancakes, and chopped some fruit to have on the side. As I was flipping the first pancake, Katie came down the stairs and started making a coffee.
"Have you had one yet?" She asked.
"Nope," I replied.
She grabbed another cup and made a coffee for me as well. After she finished making our coffees, she put her mug down beside the stove. She moved behind me and rested her head on my shoulder.
"Those pancakes look good," she whispered into my ear.
I smiled and turned off the stove.

I plated up our food and we are quickly.
"Thanks for my coffee Kay, you are so good at making them," I smiled.
"Thanks for breakfast YN." She replied.

Eventually, we grabbed our gear bags for training and drove to the training centre.

We started training with partner work. I decided to work with Katie. We started with kicking the ball to each other, and then we played a game of tag with our partners.
"I don't think you can catch me," Katie says grinning.
"You watch McCabe," I said running towards her. I caught up to her and tackled her to the ground. She started tickling me to free herself from my grip.
"Aww if it isnt the lovebirds at it again," says Kyra. I laughed at her and got off Katie, letting her get up from the floor. 

After some group work, we went inside for lunch. I sat at a table with Katie, Steph, Kyra, Beth and Leah.
"Hey, what do you want to eat, I'll grab it for you," Katie whispers into my ear.
"I'll just have some fried rice and a banana," I replied. She smiles at me and gets up to grab lunch.

"So. Whats happening with you and Katie?" Beth asks.
"We are just friends," I say.
"Friends don't look at each other like that, and tickle each other in training and hold hands in the ocean," Kyra says giggling.
"Have you seen the way you look at each other?" Steph asks.
"Guys I promise you, friends and nothing more." I say.
"Do you like her?" Leah asks randomly.
"I-I don't know," I say. Everyone looks up smiling.
"I think you do, you just won't admit it," says Beth giggling.

Katie comes back over and sits beside me.
"Here's you lunch," she says cutely, placing my food in front of me.
"Thanks Kay," I whisper into her ear.
I eat my lunch quickly.

"Since training is over for the day, should we have a movie night tonight?" I ask.
"We can. Does anyone want to host?" Beth asks. I look at Katie and she nods. "We can host," Katie says wrapping her arm around my shoulder. "Come around whenever, we will be home," I say.

After everyone finishes lunch, I walk back to the locker room to grab my stuff.
I change quickly into some casual clothes. I pack my gear bag and wait for Katie. Around 5 minutes later she walks in and changes. I couldn't help but to look at her abs.
"Checking me out Robertson?" Katie says giggling.
"Got a decent set of abs there Kay," I reply giggling. As she packs her locker, I wrap my arms around her waist from behind.
"Ready to go?" I ask. She nods and we walk out to the car.

As I drove, I noticed Katie staring at me.
"You alright Kay?" I ask.
"Yeah, you are gorgeous..has anyone ever told you that?" She says.
"Not in a long time Katie.. it means a lot." I say smiling.

At around 5pm, the girls started arriving. We made popcorn and had a snack bar set up for the movies. Katie and I sat on the corner of the couch together, sharing a blanket. Steph and Kyra sat together, Leah and Lia sat together and Beth, Viv and Alessia sat together.

"What does everyone want to watch?" I ask.
"Can we watch the little mermaid?" Katie asks randomly. Everyone agrees and I press play on the movie.

Midway through the movie, my phone rings.
"I'll just be a second," I whisper into Katie's ear.

I walk into the kitchen and answer the call.
"Hey mama, how are you?" I ask.
"I'm good how are you doing?" My mum asks.
"I'm good. Just having a movie night with some of the girls. I've missed you so much mum," I say.
"I've missed you too honey. How's the club treating you?" She questions.
"It's really good, I've made heaps on friends here and I'm enjoying training. Not sure about my debut yet, but I don't think it's far away," I say.
Katie walks around the corner towards the kitchen.
"Hey, mum, I have someone you might want to meet. She's my housemate, Katie." I say as Katie wraps her arms around my waist from behind appearing in the camera.
"Katie, this is my mum Jane," I say smiling at her.
"Hi Jane, great to meet you," Katie says politely.
"Likewise Katie. So where are you from Katie, you've got a solid Irish accent?" Mum asks.
"I'm from Dublin, Ireland. I grew up in a big family. I've got 10 siblings but I love football and it's become a big part of my career," Katie says.
"It's also brought me to meet so many incredible people, including your daughter," she says smiling at me.
"10 siblings sounds hectic," My mum says making me and Katie laugh.
"Well mum, I've got to go. But I love you and miss you so much." I say.
"Alright honey, I love you and miss you too and great meeting you Katie.
Bye," she says before hanging up.

"Your mum is so nice," Katie says. I turn around to face her and lean against the counter. Katie's hands wrapped gently around my waist.
"She's great, she really is," I say smiling at Katie.

We walk back over to the girls and sit back on the couch. Katie wraps her arms around my shoulder and I snuggle into her side, letting my hand rest of her abs. People start getting bored of the movie and suggest playing truth or dare which we happily agreed to.

"Let's make this game fun, make it interesting," says Beth.
"YN, truth or dare," Beth asks.
"Erm. Dare" I reply.
"I dare you to kiss the person who you find the most attractive in this room." Beth says.
My jaw drops. I turn towards Katie.
"May I?" I ask making sure she's comfortable. She nods quickly.
I place my arms around her neck, and she wraps her arm around my waist pulling me closer. Finally, our lips connect. Her lips were warm and soft. The kiss was soft and loving, like we had been waiting to kiss for a long time. I broke away after around 5 seconds.

"Well I that was definitely something," Leah says making everyone giggle. Me and Katie sat there blushing.
"Katie, I know we haven't known each other long, but I really like you.. will you be my girlfriend?" I whisper into her ear. Her face lights up.
"Absolutely," she says pulling my face towards her, connecting our lips again. The girls cheer and congratulate us.
