The sunlight streaming through the hotel room window streaked across the bed causing Taylor to awake with a groan once it reached her eyes. Not even bothering to check her phone or the time she pulled the pillow over her head and attempted to get comfortable again. Her thoughts from the previous night swirled around in her head. She really had pushed herself to hard. She knew she had been having a hard time recently with the breakup, but I guess her body was finally telling her she was at her breaking point.
It was no use. Sleep was already too far away from her mind. Throwing the covers off her body with a loud groan she pulled herself up and padded into the ensuite bathroom. Looking into the mirror she could barely recognize herself anymore. Her face was pale and the circles around her eyes seemed darker even though she was actually able to sleep. She didn't feel like herself. Ever since Joe left it felt like a part of her was missing. She knew that if he couldn't support her going back out into the world she loved then it was a means to an end, but that didn't mean a part of her heart wasn't absolutely shattered.
After throwing her hair into a messy bun and shrugging into some comfy sweats she shuffled into the front room to make some coffee. Her dad, mom, and Tree seemed deep in discussion and stopped the minute they noticed her.
"Well don't silence on my account." Taylor made her way to the coffee machine pushing the button for her pre-saved favorite.
"She should know" Scott whispered under his breath.
"She is already barely holding it together." Andrea shared a worried look with Tree.
"Our focus right now should be on her health and the tour" Tree turned to try and conceal her face from Taylor's view.
"What's going on?" Taylor walked into the room with her coffee plopping down next to Tree.
"Taylor...."
"Scott. Please."
"She needs to know. It's hers."
Taylor leaned forward and set her mug on the table, "Dad? What is mine?"
Andrea reached down into her purse and pulled out a small package. "Honey, this is yours." She reached over the coffee table and set the parcel in front of her daughter.
Tree sighed grabbing Taylor's hands in hers, "Last night a group of football player's from the NFL team here, the Chiefs, came to see the show. One of them, Travis Kelce I think was his name, approached your dad and Drew by the dressing room wanting to see you before the concert."
Taylor's face curved in confusion while she sorted out the pieces in her head. "Wait, I remember dad saying something while we were walking to the stage."
"Yea, he was not taking no for an answer," Scott stepped in. "It took both Drew and I talking to him."
Tree squeezed Taylor's hand causing the singer to refocus her attention to her publicist. "Once it was clear to him he wasn't going to get past your security he gave your dad that package and said it was for you."
"What is it?" The singer looked down by her mug and the parcel focused in her line of vision. The others in the room could sense her uneasiness.
"It's okay sweetie. We already checked it out. Nothing crazy."
Taylor opened the package and pulled out a delicately stringed together friendship bracelet with red and yellow beads, but what really caught her attention was the white beads in the middle with black numbers.
"What? I'm lost?"
"It looks like he wanted to give you his number in the form of a friendship bracelet." Andrea tried to explain.
