Waluigi trundled towards the library, reluctant to do what he was instructed to by Polari. He andered inside, his eyes greeted by vast quantities of books among the dimly lit room, creating a relaxing atmosphere. He wondered how Rosalina was able to find the time to read all of them. His attention focused on one that was sitting there, alone on a wooden chair. Alone, something that Waluigi felt more than anything, so he was naturally inclined to pick this one up. As he did so, shoals of lumas flew into the library, clamouring to hear the story that was about to be told. "Pfft, lets begin I guess," Waluigi muttered to himself, not expecting anything remarkable from this little story.
As the lumas quickly left, overjoyed by the story that was read to them, Waluigi sat there, staring into nothing. He was holding in what felt like gallons of tears after reading what he quickly deduced to be Rosalina's backstory. Her explanation as to why she was out there, travelling across the stars, being the considerate and loving being that she was. What began as an innocent adventure between a girl and a luma swiftly turned tragic. Waluigi hadn't expected the story to describe Rosalina's grief about leaving her family behind- including her deceased mother- and although she appeared to somewhat overcome this grief, Waluigi could sense that she had not forgotten her sadness despite trying to mask it. "Come on luma, lets go, for mama," he said. "She's been through enough already," he explained, a lump forming in his throat. He had never considered that one of the reasons that Rosalina gave him a chance was that she could sort of relate to his isolation. He had known that she felt lonely in space, she had told him this, but she never mentioned her long lost family that she abandoned without warning. This fuelled his desire to avenge her, to set her free and to always remain by her side. The Mario Bros would have to be freed too but Waluigi honestly did not care too much about them He trusted that his few remaining allies would succeed in performing the tasks that they were set.
"Well, how was that?" Polari enquired.
"Meh, it was alright," Waluigi replied, masking his true feelings on the story he had just read.
"Sure," Polari said, seeing through the mask of emotion as if it was a transparent plastic bag. "Anyway, your search for the trio begins now. I trust you have everything you need."
Waluigi checked his pockets, not forgetting when he almost forgot his raquet on the way to Yoshi's Island.
Raquet?
Check.
Wand?
Check.
Speaker?
Check
He had the essentials, so he prepared to leave. Polari guided him inside the terrace, instructing him to begin his search in Good Egg Galaxy.
"So I have to go to every galaxy?" Waluigi sighed.
"Oh goodness me, no!" Polari laughed. "The power of the grand stars has detected the presence of evil in these galaxies. You could encounter these foes within a few minutes or a few days, we can't say for certain, but there is a very high chance we have narrowed down your search area."
"Phew!" Waluigi responded. He braced himself, preparing to launch at supersonic speed.
He hated the journey, despite it only taking a minute. The rapid speeds, twisting turns and inconsistent elevations and descents made the whole experience rather nauseating. As he landed in Good Egg Galaxy, he took a very long moment to bring himself back together. "So this is what Mario had to endure a few years ago?" he said to himself. "Of course Super Mario would find that to be a breeze." He was interrupted by the familiar buzz from his pocket; he was right to take this mysterious device with him after all. To Waluigi's surprise, the voice he heard was from Donkey Kong.
