Chapter 6- The Scheme in the Centre of the Universe

"Hurry up!" Rosalina demanded, as the possessed toads got to work, their tiny bodies forced to heave heavy materials. Rosalina scowled at the slow progress that was occuring, he laser red eye expressing anger and dissapointment mixed with a dash of... regret? It couldn't be could it? Although the possessed witch didn't know it, deep down, the supressed soul of princess Rosalina was holding firm, showing an unbreakable resolve, attempting to do whatever she could to delay her body's advances. There wasn't much effect at all really, but she had to try. 

"Ma'am," a kremling general said. It was Klump, K rool's assistant. His free will was snatched away from him when the disaster occured, and now he was just reduced to a mindless robot, whose duty it was to serve Rosalina and Mario. 

"What is it?" the woman snapped back, although her voice still consisted of a largely monotonous nature.

"Luigi has been defeated," he replied blankly.

Internal conflict coursed through Rosalina's arteries. The remaining sparks of hope battled valiantly with the darkness that plagued her mind, and this groundbreaking piece of news gave the light more hope, its strength growing with each minute that passed. She just froze there, devoid of any movement, as if these words snapped her spine, paralyzing her in the process. 

Klump looked on with zero empathy. he was a mindless biological machine, unable to express any emotions at all. He did however, realise that this was not good news. "I'll send some of our best troops to Gusty Garden Galaxy then," as he trundled off, leaving Rosalina to continue the battle within herself. She regained composure, before turning back to see the toiling toads, their stubby arms and feet shaking under the immense pressure they were under. Rosalina sighed. At this rate her conquest would never happen. "Very well," she muttered, "I'll bring in some support." She mindlessly drifted off back to her new residence: Bowser's bedroom. The room that radiated darkness with a tinge of light represented by lava decorations and had many horns and spikes protruding from the floor and furniture, creating a rather intimidating atmosphere. It was now hers.

Waluigi and Luigi wheezed in happiness as they recounted their tales that they had to tell eachother. "And then she said 'We never speak of this incident to anyone!'" Waluigi exclaimed, mimicking Rosalina's eloquent tone, referencing the incident near Ice Ice Outpost when she made a brilliant snowboard. Luigi could scarcely believe what he was hearing. It sounded like it was from some wacky cartoon, not a vital part of a mission to save the planet. He had heard various funny things from his brother, Daisy and his countless other friends, but this, from who he had always considered to be scum of the earth topped all of this with nothing else ever coming close. He couldn't help but burst into laughter everytime the thought of the watcher of the cosmos being used as a biological snowboard, which was going to be quite a lot by the looks of it. After the laughter died down, Waluigi stood up, offering his hand to Luigi.

"Frendly rivals, not enemies?" he proposed.

Luigi firmly gripped Waluigi's hand without any hesitation and shook it wildly. They both shared a friendly smile before Waluigi promptly suggested that he go and greet the lumas, especially Polari since they could do with a further morale boost. Luigi obliged, and as he exited the room, Waluigi nearly jumped out of his skin when he turned around, facing the wall.

It was Rosalina's projection. Her arms were crossed, a frown drawn upon her face. "Hmph" she moaned. Waluigi only gulped in response initially; there was a reason why she didn't want anyone to know about the penguin incident.

"How- how long have y-you been standing the-there?' he stuttered in response. His jaw was shaking in fear and guilt, his hands trembling. Everything including his voice seemed to be trembling. He took his hat off, using it as a fan as he felt the heat of the moment increase.
