" TAKE ME OUT!!!"

I shouted, my voice raw and filled with anguish.

I couldn't breathe...
my lungs refusing to cooperate...
I couldn't think anymore...

Just as I was about to collapse to the floor, the door flew open, and I stumbled forward, falling to the ground.

"Holy shit!"
I heard someone's voice, but I was too dazed to recognize who it was.

"Breathe slowly..." someone told me.

I'm out... I'm fine...
I tried to reassure myself, willing my mind to calm down. After a moment, my vision started to clear, and I saw the manager's face hovering above me.

( Manager look suck. Please don't mind..I was in hurry hehe...)

"You okay?" he asked.

"W-water... please..."
I managed to get the words out, my throat dry and raw.

He quickly stood up and grabbed a glass of water. By the time he handed it to me, I had started to regain some clarity, my thoughts slowly piecing themselves back together.
"Thank you," I said, my voice shaky as I took the glass from him. As the cool water slid down my throat, I felt a wave of relief wash over me.

"Did they lock you up?" he asked, his tone serious. I didn't answer, avoiding his gaze.

"They went too far this time... I'll report this to the higher-ups."

"No, don't..." I interrupted quickly.

"You know why they treat me like this... I deserve it anyway..."
I mumbled, lowering my head, trying to suppress the mix of shame and fear that threatened to overwhelm me again.

"I'm sorry I couldn't help you, Chan," the manager said, his voice dripping with concern.

"No, I'm sorry...
I must have caused you a lot of trouble back then... and even now...
It's not your fault" My voice trailed off, laced with guilt.

"What happened just now?" he asked.

"I... don't know... I suddenly felt so scared..."

"Did you-" he started, but I cut him off, knowing exactly what he was about to ask.

"No, I didn't..."I replied, shaking my head.

The question was always the same.
"I didn't regain any memories." I said looking at him.

For a brief moment his lips curled into what looked like a smile, but it was gone as quickly as it appeared, leaving me questioning if I'd imagined it.

Manager's POV;

I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief that Chan hadn't regained his memory. If he did, things could get really complicated. But there's no way for him to remember, right?
I had intentionally withheld his medication the doctor recommended. Why bother? Keeping him in the dark is the most easy way.

"Why are you always asking me that, by the way?"
Chan suddenly asked, his voice tinged with confusion.

"Nothing special, actually... I'm glad you don't remember," I replied, forcing a light tone.
"You were a lunatic back in the days...
But you are better now."

"Then why can't kids see it?
Why can't they forgive me like you do? "
he asked,
his voice tinged with a mix of hurt and disbelief. It wasn't a question for me, but more for himself.

Inwardly, I mused,

I ???forgive you...????

What a poor kid. It should be the other way around. It's your misfortune that you lost your memory. If that hadn't happened, you might not be in such a pathetic state like you are now. You wouldn't be here, questioning yourself, getting bullied for no reason, drowning in guilt over something you didn't even do.

And your friends...
they are just clueless.
If only they knew the hell you've been through in that past three months, the silent agony you endured just to protect them...
They'd be bowing at your feet, not tormenting you like this.

You think you deserve this, but if you know everything you've sacrificed for them, given up for them, you wouldn't be so eager to blame yourself.

I thought.

"Anyway" I tried to shift the conversation, "I'm glad I came at the right time. If I hadn't heard that banging on the door, you'd still be stuck in there. Wouldn't you?"

"Thank you, manager," Chan said, as he looked at me with gratitude.

I nodded as I reached into my bag and pulled out a thin file.

"I actually came to give this to you." I handed him the file.
"They need to prepare for the next comeback soon. The details are in there... You guys will be busier from now on. Consider this your last vacation for a while," I said, as I stood up to leave.

"I need to go now Chan.
Make sure to inform the others,
and... take care."

"I will. " he said, his gratitude palpable.

I'm not apologizing, kid.
We need to keep living too...

I thought as I walked away.
