STEFAN

I lay on the bed, my hands beneath my head as I stared at the ceiling. The smooth jazz drifted from the small speaker on my bedside table, calming my mind as I tried to decide what I should do.

I still couldn't believe what I'd done, the mere thought of how I ran away a few hours ago at the sight of Sasha made me want to crawl into myself and die from embarrassment.

I had never been this insecure or unsure about a thing in my life, always knowing exactly what I wanted and how to get it. But now, I didn't and I felt horrible.

I was a strong man, a proud Dom, and yet, I had been acting like a fucking coward and it needed to stop. Immediatelly.

I stood up, took my shirt to put it on, intent on finding Sasha and speaking with him so we could once and for all deal with this whole mess when there was a knock on the door.

Suddenly remembering that I had ordered room service due to leaving the restaurant without actually eating anything, I abandoned my shirt and walked toward the door to open it, my stomach rumbling at just the thought of a meal.

As I opened the door, the room service guy smiled at me from the other side before he rolled the food inside but I barely spared him half a look as my eyes fell on the person standing behind him.

Sasha.

He stood silently, staring at me, and I could see that he was nervous as he kept shifting on his feet.

"Would that be all gentlemen?" the server asked and I nodded without a word as I gave him a tip on his way out.

"Enjoy!" He said before leaving the two of us alone.

We stood silent for a moment, Sasha still just outside of my room, and as one of his brows rose I realized that I hadn't asked him to come in.

Still shocked to see him there, I simply motioned with my hand for him to come in and he did, with a whispered thank you as he passed me by.

I closed my eyes for a moment as I caught a whiff of his cologne, the memories of the previous night suddenly vivid in my mind for a second until I shut them down.

He had obviously come to talk and the last thing I needed in that moment was to grow a stiffy.

"Are you hungry?" I asked as I turned to face him, nodding toward the food with my head. "There's more than enough."

"No. Thank you." He said quietly as he walked toward the window and leaned against the seal.

"I.."

"Look..."

We both started to speak at the same time and I smiled slightly as I motioned for him to go first.

"I just came to..." he started and then paused, looking at his feet for a moment before his eyes came up to settle on me.

"I just came to give my notice. I will book a flight to go home tomorrow."

I blinked, and then blinked again, my mind blanking out for a moment as I tried to comprehend what he was saying.

Notice... go home?

"You are quitting?"

"I..." he said as he looked away and then nodded. "Yeah. Yeah, I am."

"Sasha..."

"Look..." he interrupted me before I could say anything. "I am sorry for what happened last night. I have behaved completely inappropriately and I apologize."
