SASHA
I bit on my nails as I stared across the office at the elevator door. Any moment now, Stefan, aka my make-out buddy, aka my BOSS, was going to come up. Well, if Benny, the security guard from downstairs that I had bribed with cookies this morning to let me know when Mr. Lewis arrives, was worth his penny.
Or a cookie... whatever.
After our night/day spent in his hotel room, he had to go to Japan for a meeting with a hopeful investor while I went back home to hold the office while he was away.
And, I think I did well, considering that I had no experience actually running the office, but I managed. Probably due to my obsessive watching of the man in the last few months, I had been working here.
Who said being a stalker was a waste of time?
So, the company was publishing house was in mostly the same place he had left it, but that wasn't the reason for my current snacking on my fingers.
The problem was that I didn't know how to act. For all our time spent in his bed, we never actually discussed what we were. If we were anything at all.
He had certainly acted like we were, kissing me throughout the day and while we said goodbye, but I've hardly heard from him since I came back, due to the time difference, and even when I did it had been a short chat about a contract or a paper he needed for me to send him before cutting the call short as he rushed to a next meeting.
So, now, two weeks later, you could hardly blame me for being nervous about seeing him again.
Numerous questions flew through my mind as I sat there.
Should I just say hi?
Kiss him?
Hug him?
Pat him on the fucking back?
I was losing it... I thought as I grabbed my head with my hands, ignoring the curious looks the people sitting in the cubicles were throwing at me.
And then I heard a ping from the other side of the office and my eyes snapped open, flying to the elevator door just in time to see the man of my dreams step through them.
My breath caught as our eyes connected, and it was at that moment that I realized just how much I had missed him during these two weeks.
He walked through the office slowly, nodding at the greetings shouted from the cubicles, his eyes never leaving mine.
I sat still, my body frozen as he approached, until he was right there. I could feel my heart beating widely as if trying to beat its way out of my chest, while my hands shook.
I stuck them beneath my desk, not wanting him to see just how much his presence had affected me as he stopped beside my desk.
"Morning." He said, opening his mouth to say more, but closing it before he did and just nodding and then walking away from my desk and into his office.
I blinked, and then blinked again, as my mind came to a halt.
Well... that was underwhelming.
I sighed, slumping back into my chair, feeling like an idiot. What did I expect? As if he was gonna come in and sweep me off my feet and kiss the living daylights out of me in front of all these people.
Yeah, right.
Idiot.
I jumped as my phone rang, making Mary from the cubicle closest to mine look at me weirdly before shaking her head and rolling her eyes.
