Forgiveness

To forgive someone is to embrace the flower within them with its drooping petals and sharp thorns,

To see the younger version of you looking up at you, confused and forlorn, and to face that past you and mourn,

To mourn the path that they have taken to survive, and it left them shaking,

To weep for what should've, would've, and could've been,

To grieve the "if only" and to let go of "there was no way I could win,"

To forgive is to pull out your heart and take a close look at the thorns attached injecting emotional poison and causing you to fear,

To pull them out and whisper lovingly, "Beloved, it's okay, I'm right here,"

To be dear to yourself once again and realize that this Collective Reality is a mirror to the Dream within you, the one that you make and recreate,

To move past the shallow shores and dive into the lake, and to realize that there is in fact an ocean underneath, still and yet filled with life down in this deep,

And find the hidden treasure within your heart, gems of love and wisdom and truth, I presume that's why they call it a treasure chest; I wonder if that's true,

To recommit to God, to Goddess, to wonder and life and love,

To remember that your loved ones are always looking out from above,

The younger version of yourself needs that hug, right here and right now. Will you give it to them? Release the need to punish yourself --- your dues have already been paid.
