I'm so sick because of you

A chaotic, high-pressure environment. The sound of beeping monitors, urgent medical chatter, and the occasional wail of pain. Pete, disheveled and pale, layed on a hospital bed, hooked up to various machines. A seasoned ER physician, and his nurses, efficient and calm, worked frantically to stabilize him.

Vegas was frantically staring from a bench seated outside the operation theater. His heart drummed hard against his ribs. The flashback of Pete fainting in his arms replayed again. His thoughts of chains were broken by Nop who bowed before speaking, "Khun, your hunch was right. The waiter was Atin and had spiked Khun Pete's drink too."

Vegas fisted his hand against his thighs as he pondered, 'Why is he back? What is my father planning now?' Before he could assign Nop to inquire more, the doctor came out of the theater shifting their attention to him.

"GHB was found in a considerable heavy dosage in the patient's blood. He is safe for now and is being shifted to the VIP room for further rest. About the drug–" the doctor was cut off by Vegas, "We will take care of the drug. Thank you doctor."

Vegas followed by Nop made their way towards Pete's room. Vegas signaled Nop about his next task before entering the room. Pete's pale face layed on the bed, the silence over bearing in Vegas' head. He sat next to Pete, engulfing his angel's delicate palms injected with various needles, into his as he placed a small kiss onto it.

"I'm sorry Pete, I'm sorry," he mumbled a tear escaping his eyes.

It was only after a while that Pete opened his eyes. The bright light of the room caused him to flicker as he tried to sit up while holding his head. Vegas immediately pressed the button for calling the doctor as he rushed to help Pete.

Once the doctor left after checking on Pete's health. Silence again spread in the room, lingering gazes all over the place.

"I'm sorry–" both Vegas and Pete started at the same time.

"Why are you sorry angel? It is because of the waiter who–" Vegas hurriedly continued sitting himself right next to Pete.

"Exactly the waiter. Vegas, he was my father. His eyes felt familiar I should've fucking guessed from it. He's back, he'll ruin me again Vegas. I'm sorry for this mess. I'm sorry to bring you in. He won't spare me, he won't spare me this time, i'm sorry" with each word more tears rolled faster down Pete's cheeks.

Colors flew away from Vegas' face as he heard 'father'. His hands still holding Pete's he mumbled, "Atin is your father?"

"Yea," Pete hiccupped as Vegas still reached to soothe his back, "He is supposed to be in jail, in the south. He's not supposed to be here for at least the next six years."

"He's been out for a long time, at least the past two years." Vegas provided new information to Pete.

"Do- do you know him Vegas?" Pete stuttered a bit.

"Atin is a close underdog of my father. He helped my father in killing my mother. It was right in front of my eyes." his grip tightened on Pete's hands as the gruesome memories of that day rushed back in. Pete's eyes drained out as he stared at Vegas, guilt filling up.

"Ma would always protect us when we were young, trying to hide the monster's vile nature from us. She tried but you could never really stop my father. I stepped in to protect her and Macau but it was never enough for him. Ma used to go through worse atrocities behind closed doors." A tear escaped his eyes as he stared right into Pete's eyes.

"That night, I had lost a deal due to his secretary's issues but of course he didn't care. We were in his office when ma came and saw me getting hit. Atin was right there. He grabbed my ma and held her firmly. Both of them were high. They–" a large sob escaped, Vegas had never said about that night to any one. Pete slid his thumb over Vegas' palm, comforting as his eyes also held unshed tears.

"They hit me on my head. As I was about to pass out, they dragged ma," he paused, clenching his eyes and gritting his teeth, "and tortured her in front of my eyes. I tried to protect her, but it was of no use. By the end, ma was no more. They ruined her–" he couldn't continue as he sobbed loudly, burning his face in Pete's palms.

Pete let Vegas cry his heart out, as he sat there in silence, grasping every piece of information. His tears seemed to know no bounds either. After what felt like an eternity, Pete spoke.

"My father, he–" Vegas shot his head up, looking at Pete's eyes. "He was supposed to be in jail. I made sure he would be. I am sorry Vegas, it is because of him you lost her. I am sorry, I don't know Vegas I–" painful cries filled up the room again.

"He was abusive. He would constantly beat me and ma up because I was useless. He forced me into boxing and every match I lost enraged him to hit me. He needed excuses to beat the shit out of us. My yaai would come and help both of us, trying to protect us as much as she could. I was seventeen, when he killed ma in front of yaai and I. He was severely drunk and smashed bottles into her head. When we ran to help her, he did the same to yaai. By the time I managed to get help, they were no more. I called the police and got him sentenced soon after under the charges of domestic violence, assault and murder. He's not supposed to be here. He will ruin me again. He will ruin all of us, Vegas. He shouldn't be here." Sobs filled the place, as the two lovers tried seeking comfort from their pasts within the other.

It was late at night when Pete got the green signal to discharge. Vegas stayed by his side the entire day. As they settled in the car with Nop driving, an uncomfortable silence filled the car. Heavy thoughts filled their minds. Atin had ruined both of their lives.

As Vegas was about to excuse himself for the night, he felt a tug at his sleeves. Turning around, he noticed Pete biting his lips, hesitating as he spoke, "Vegas, I'm sorry for what happened with your mother. I understand if you would–"

Vegas immediately kneeled, cupping Pete's tear stained face in his palms. "Angel, I could never think about leaving you. Don't ever say that. I made such a mistake once and I regret it enough. It's just that I need some time to think about everything. I will not be sparing them for what they did to us. I'm not mad at you Pete."

Pete buried his face deep into the crook of Vegas' neck, both maintaining the position for a few minutes. As they broke out of the hug, already missing each other's warmth, Vegas wiped Pete's cheeks planting a small peck on them.

As Vegas left the apartment, Pete gazed at the moon outside, missing his mom and yaai more than ever today. He was scared for what his father could possibly want again but he trusted Vegas. He despised his father even more than ever.

After settling inside the car, Vegas ordered Nop to drive towards the headquarters. Seeing Atin attack once again after a few months, he couldn't shake the burdensome feeling. His investigation to sue both the men has gotten a new piece of information. He needed to gather more proof and today's incident was the perfect opportunity.

As he marched down the hallway followed by Nop, he heard loud noises from his father's chamber. Interrupting his father at this time would raise suspicions, thus he decided upon checking the cams of the room.

Upon logging into his system, he opened the live feed to his father's chamber. His eyes almost bulged out at the scene presented in front of him.

Atin kneeled before Gun, his hands gripping Gun's thighs as he bobbed his head up and down, sucking Gun off. Gun's hands guided the man under him as the flashback of the loud groans flashed through Vegas' mind. He immediately clicked off, feeling flushed and disgusted with the sight he just saw.

His father and Atin... Vegas didn't envision that even in his wildest thoughts, or nightmares. He had to get to the bottom of this even more.

He dialed Kim immediately who was pissed at the fact his sleep was being disturbed at 1 am.
"What the fuck is actually wrong with you Vegas?" Kim practically barked at the phone. "Well, I'm assuming you were asleep, dear cousin?" Vegas replied a bit playfully, redeeming his aura, trying to get his mind off the view from a few seconds ago.

"No shit, Vegas. What have you found?" Kim enquired, aiming to end the call and return to Chay as soon as possible. Vegas, not surprised that his cousin knew about his tactics well by now, revealed some information.

"It's about pa and Atin, they..."
