The Princess of the Southern Isles was an acquired taste.

Her stuck up, nonchalant attitude had cost her one too many "you should smile more"'s her whole life. She was not much of a jokester; her voice always remained earnest.

Dawn Westergaard was by far the toughest of her siblings, all 13 of her brothers.

She held books close to her chest and rolled her eyes at the sign advertising the Castlecoming Festival that her peers could not stop talking about, including two girls who were unfamiliar to her: Red and Chloe.

Her niece from the future took a step back while Ella's daughter explained how that event created the evil Queen of Hearts; Red bumped into the ginger who gasped in surprise and lost the grip on her belongings.

Red flinched while Chloe gasped and began apologizing purposefully, "Sorry! I'm sorry!"

"You didn't do anything." Nothing ever seemed to disturb the nonchalant girl whose voice was always monotonous, and the moment she spoke, Red perked up.

"Dawn?"

The ginger had assisted the blue haired girl in retrieving her books, and after she was composed once again, she stood up and lifted her head to the shocked red headed girl.

Her brows furrowed and she straightened her posture. "Yes?"

It surprised Red once again when it was confirmed, realizing she was face to face with her aunt. She was even more surprised to find that she had always been stone-faced and serious.

Shock suddenly cast a shadow on the princess's face as her heart dropped. "Were you sent by my father?"

Red nearly laughed. "More like mine."

Dawn's head tilted back in utter confusion, but the red headed girl waved it off.

"My dad, he sent me here." she clarified and Dawn nodded slowly, analyzing the new girls and their odd behavior.

Chloe offered a big smile as the princess stepped away.

Red leaned in to speak quietly, "That must be why the watch sent us back to this moment in time. That's my aunt who takes care of me. But my dad was wrong. Dawn's always been like that." she crossed her arms, puzzled.

Dawn was new to Merlin Academy.

All of her brothers were sent to different Kingdoms, on a mission placed by their father to take over and become king, to secure a better legacy than taking over the Southern Isles.

She had to fight her way for a chance, which is how she ended up at Merlin Academy, and there she was, attending the Three Good Fairies', Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather, etiquette classes out in the courtyard.
