The Princess and Fairy Godmother shared a dormitory.

On Dawn's side, it was dark; the window was always shut and hidden by deep purple and blue curtain, sheets and pillows the same shades, and a side table stacked with books.

Meanwhile, on Faye's side, her bed was pale blue and fuzzy, with posters of abstract art and chic colors, plants and a bright, open window decorated with sparkly fairy lights.

But Dawn didn't plan on staying much longer anyway, not even until the upcoming graduation ceremony, she planned on taking over the kingdom and making the castle her home.

There was a soft, maroon and blue checkered rug laid out on the bright hardwood floor as well as a wall between their beds that was home to a large, wooden dresser drawer and a mirror above it.

Dawn was in front of that golden circle mirror and Faye was behind her, removing the gold clip that held her hair half up, before ruffling the perfectly kept look.

Her face scrunched up uncomfortably. "Faye, how did this turn into a makeover?"

She shrugged, removing the gold rings from the princess' fingers. "I can't work the wand, you're going out with a villain, the whole world is upside down."

Dawn was not one for pep talks or friends. She didn't travel all the way from her small island to make friends.

In fact, she hated everyone who attended Merlin Academy, all their cliques and fake smiles.

However, when she was put in a dorm with a shy, quiet brunette who spent her days with her nose in a spell book, waving around a wand, it changed her mind just a little bit.

So now, as she took in her friend's dejected tone and expression, guilt washed over her.

"You'll get it," the princess assured her.

Faye smiled, so Dawn offered a small one herself.

The brunette then stepped back to admire her hair and makeup work as the princess began spraying a coconut scented perfume all over herself; the sweet aroma drenching the carpet.

"Do you at least think he's cute?" Faye questioned, wanting to be more optimistic.

"I didn't notice." She lied casually, shrugging while rubbing her wrists together to enhance the scent.

Shock crossed Faye's face, her shoulders falling. "The day you got here, a boy tried to offer you a rose but you turned him down because he was a commoner. You want royalty, not a villain."

"Exactly," she reminded her, "This is all a ploy."

Dawn nearly forgot that when she opened the door and found the Captain because she lied before, she had noticed his good looks.

But when he flashed that smirk of his and leaned against the doorframe, she was brought back to reality and rolled her eyes.

Although he had the same reaction once his eyes landed on her, getting a good look, they softened and he swallowed harshly then cleared his throat, like any flirty remark he planned had gotten caught.

"You're late." she chastised him, her flat tone bringing him back to reality.

"Counting the minutes, are we," he teased with a sly smile, casually glancing up to where the princess's roommate had cut out their names and decorated it on the door, "..Dawn?" he held his breath hoping he picked the right one.

"Sure, Hook." she quipped, keeping the door open behind her and proceeding down the hall.

He huffed a laugh, following behind.
