Captain Hook and the Princess of the Southern Isles snuck out.

The storm had relaxed and only a slight mist fell from the sky; the droplets helping to wash away the paint on their skin as they rushed to his ship.

They knew they had to get away for a while as the other villains faced their punishment, so they sailed off on the Jolly Roger and let time pass.

"I've, um," Dawn began, the post storm dewy breeze flowing through her hair and raising goosebumps on her skin. "Nobody's ever known about that,"

The pirate steered the ship and looked over at the princess curiously.

She shrugged, unsure how to word it. "My life. And painting."

"Oh, yeah?" he teased, concealing how truly grateful he felt, but she was glad he did not make a big deal out of it.

She nodded. "Is there anything about you that no one knows?"

Her genuine curiosity surprised him, the way she gazed at him attentively like she was genuinely interested.

The boy did a double take at the girl then the water, and hesitated. "My first name isn't James. It's Killian. Killian James."

He did not look at her while speaking, but she smiled despite herself.

"Killian," she echoed, causing him to glance over at her.

The two shared a smile, a genuine smile at each other for the first time.

"Thank you," she halted, speaking quietly while gazing down, but he looked at her intently. "For protecting me from Uliana. On my island, in my family, it's every man for themselves..."

She hesitated and glanced up at him, her heart racing so fiercely against her chest, she'd fear it burst, afraid of her next confession.

He nodded encouragingly as he sensed that she was holding back.

"Killian," his name slipped off her lips naturally and it made him smile. "My island is horrible," she swallowed to soothe her dry throat. "My father, he sent my brothers to other kingdoms so they could take over and become king. And... I wanted a chance, a- a fair shot. So I was sent here,"

His brows rose curiously, recently on the edge of his seat with each story she told because he never grew tired of learning more about her.

"I had to fight my way," she nodded assuredly, proud of herself, "But I'm here. I hated it at first, but then I met Faye... and you,"

She leaned further into him as he smiled wide, admiring her and her words.

"That wasn't the plan," she had to take a deep breath as her heart raced and she nearly backed out. "I was only supposed to win over the prince. Charming."

She blurted out and jumbled her words together, "And that's the only reason why I agreed to go out with you."

He nearly laughed. "You didn't think I noticed something was up? I saw how you looked at him and then pretended you were smooth,"

"Pretended," she echoed, playfully taken aback, and they laughed together.

"You weren't," he teased, shaking his head. "There were rumors about you trying to become queen. That's why I asked you out in the first place. You bothered Uliana, and she wanted to send you back to your island,"
