KILLIAN

Lottie and I are in the living room folding laundry while watching a movie. It's quite nice actually since Layla's gone off to bed. We don't get much free time together since she's been born. But, she'll be starting school this upcoming week, so all is going to go back to being calm.

"I love you." Lottie says. She's been saying that a lot.

"Well I love you too." I kiss her. She's very very touchy too. She wasn't always. This is recent. "Are you alright recently love?"

"I'm fine, why?"

"You just seem a tad... off."

She shakes her head. "I'm fine."

I just nod and set the clothes in the basket to take them upstairs. She follows and hugs me. I need space. "I think I'm gonna go for drinks with David."

"What? No. You're not leaving me."

"No love I would never. I'm just having drinks with David. I'll be back in an hour."

She nods and just puts the laundry away. I go to David's house and knock on the door. Katherine opens it. "Hello love. Is David around?"

"David and I broke up."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that."

"No it's okay, we both love different people. He's probably with Mary Margaret."

"Ok thank you." I walk to her apartment and knock on the door. The Sheriff opens it. "Killian, hi."

"Is David here?"

"Right. Yeah. He is." She allows me in.

"Thank you Sheriff."

She looks, upset, with me. "Killian, what are you doing here?"

"I wanted to see if David wanted to go out for drinks."

Mary Margaret looks at him. "I don't really care what you do just be back before it gets too late."

"Yeah, I'll go that's fine." He walks out from around the counter and out with me.  "What's up man?"

"Lotties just acting weird lately, I needed a second alone to just have a drink."

He nods and just orders a beer. "Ah. I had a lot of seconds like that when I was with Katherine."

"Oh yeah I'm sorry about the break up."

He shrugs. "I didn't love her."

"You didn't?"

"I wanted to." He seems less hazy than he has since getting out of his coma.

"As long as you're happy I guess." I chug my beer.

"You don't seem happy."

"I am happy, I love her."

He chuckles. "Okay."

"We've been together since we were five. I love her so much, just something wrong."

He laughs again. "You don't love her like you used to."

"Yes I do. Somethings just bugging her. She's acting weird."  Like possessive. And she's been yelling at Layla a lot for little things that don't make sense. She seems used to it too. "Mean to Layla and very clung to me."

"If she's mean to your kid you should take the kid and leave."

"I think she's just stressed. Actually would you mind maybe taking Layla for the weekend?"

"No, not at all."

"Thank you so much. Maybe all we need is to spend the weekend together."

He nods and finishes off his drink. "If that's all, I'll come pick her up in the morning."

"Perfect thanks man." I pay for drinks and we both go home. Lotties doing dishes and I go hug her from behind and kiss her neck. "Hi my love."

"Killian. You're back early." Her face is lighting up.

"I told you I would only be gone for an hour. Also I had an idea, David said he could take Layla for the weekend and we could spend time together, just the two of us."

She smiles. "I'd like that."

"I'll go get her ready." I kiss her and go to Layla. She's curled in a ball in her corner. "Layla? Are you okay?"

She lifts her head and shakes it. "Mommy yelled at me again." I pick her up and sit down with her in my lap.

"Mommys really stressed right now, you're gonna go stay with Uncle David for the weekend."

She nods and kisses my cheek. "I'll pack some stuff to do." And she immediately starts doing it.

"Baby I can do it."

She shakes her head. "Go hug mommy."

"I'm spendinf time with you right now, I'll hug Mommy in a little bit."

She pulls me up off the floor and pushes me out. She shoves me to the staircase then runs back to her room to lock the door. Is she that afraid of Lottie? I frown and go downstairs. Lottie has a movie on and she's laying with a blanket on the couch. I sit on the couch and pull her towards me. "What are we gonna do all weekend?" She whispers.

"Whatever we want." I kiss her.

She sits on my lap. "Oh yeah? Is that so?"

"Mhm." I kiss her again, harder and deeper. I can feel the smile behind her kiss.

"Let's take this to bed." And we do.
