Kyran
I don't know when I fell asleep, but when I opened my eyes, I was lying beside Elliot, who was sleeping. I reached to grab my phone from the nightstand. It was almost midnight. I saw that I had a few missed calls, but I didn't check from who. I got up from the bed and quietly left the room. I carefully walked downstairs. I saw Trinity sleeping on the couch.
I unlocked the door and left the house, making sure to close it slowly so Trinity wouldn't wake up. I started walking home. It was silent, which was very unsettling. Though, once I got comfortable, it was really nice. There was a slight cold breeze, and the sky was clear, making it easy to see the stars. The moon was bright and beautiful.
I realized I didn't have my keys when I made it home. Well, shit. To my luck, the door swung open, almost hitting me in the process. My dad stood there, angry.
"Good morning," I said, which seemed to make him more mad.
"Where were you?"
"At Elli's."
"Mysha told me you were being mean to her and Andy today."
"I wasn't being mean."
"You didn't stick up for your sister."
"You seriously believe what came out of her mouth?"
"She also told me you drunk alcohol."
"Not intentionally."
"Did Ruland trick you into it? That boy has a serious problem."
"What?" I yelled. "Ruland has nothing to do with this. He'd never do that. Plus, this was a long time ago."
"You're grounded."
"Mysha came home late before, and you didn't ground her."
"Kyran, the problem is that I didn't know if you were safe." He rubbed his forehead.
"You didn't come looking for me."
I walked past him and entered the house. I quickly went to my room before my dad could say anything else to me. I just wanted to go back to sleep. That's exactly what I did. The minute I hit the bed, I fell asleep.
I woke up to my door being banged on. My dad was yelling to tell me to get ready for school. I looked at the time and saw that we were already behind schedule. I took a shower, brushed my teeth, washed my face, and got dressed. When I was finally done, I checked my phone. I had some unread messages and a few missed calls. I looked at the time and saw that school had already started. Welp.
I grabbed my bag and left my room. When I made it to the living room, dad was sitting on the couch with Daria.
"You're walking to school," he said, not bothering to look at me.
"Don't make him walk in that heat," Daria said, hitting dad's arm.
"He should've thought about that when he was taking forever to get ready," he said. "He's walking."
"No, he's not," Daria said, grabbing the keys off the table.
We walked out of the house and went to the car. We got inside, and once Daria started the car, we began driving to school.
"What's going on with you and your dad?"
"Came home late."
"And?"
"And he grounded me."
"Anything else I should know?"
"Alcohol."
