After Elliot basically came out to me, I met his sister, Trinity, who was his guardian, and we went to his room to play video games. After about an hour or two, it was time for me to leave since my dad and stepmom were blowing up my phone. Even my biological mom started spamming me. I told Elliot and Trinity I would be fine walking alone, but Elliot wouldn't let me.

"I promise I'll make it home safely," I said.

"I'm walking with you," he insisted.

"Then who's going to walk—"

He put on some slides and walked out the door before I could finish my sentence. I looked at Trinity, who just shook her head.

"He'll be fine," she assured. "He carries scissors in his pocket."

"I'm aware," I said before following behind Elliot, who was, as always, walking extremely fast.

"Hurry up, slow poke," he said.

"Could you slow down?" I asked, finally catching up. "How did you know my house was in this direction?"

"Lucky guess." He shrugged.

When we made it to my house, Elliot didn't walk away like he'd usually do. He just stood there, studying me.

"What?" I asked.

"I hate you," he said before looking away from me. "Today was fun, I guess."

"Is this your way of saying you want me to come over again?"

"No, dipshit."

He walked away quickly. I sighed before turning to my door. I opened it and was immediately grabbed by my shirt. My dad slammed the door and started yelling a bunch of things I didn't care to remember. He then let go of my shirt and apologized for yelling. I knew he was genuine. He was just worried that something happened to me. I take full responsibility considering I did keep the details of where I was vague.

I surprisingly didn't get grounded, which was a good thing since Elliot—at least I think he did—wants me to come to his house again. I think the next time I'm going to have to bring along my parents to meet him and Trinity.

The rest of sixth grade was pretty good. I made some more friends, and so did Mysha and Ruland. During Thanksgiving, my dad, stepmom, my biological mom, and Trinity made a joint Thanksgiving dinner. Destiny and her real boyfriend, Atticus, were there as well. Mysha, as always, was flirting with both Atticus and Elliot whenever the adults weren't present, and Destiny was annoyed with her.

Violet was supposed to come down and visit us for Thanksgiving, but she couldn't make it because she wanted to spend time with her grandfather before he passed away; he was sick. There was a lot going on in her life that I felt bad I wasn't there to help her through it. Her parents got a divorce, and they are going through a custody battle. Her grandmother passed away a few days before she found out her grandfather was sick, and she was having trouble figuring out her sexuality. I called her almost everyday to help in any way, and she appreciated it.

During Christmas, Violet was able to come down and visit to celebrate her birthday with us, which was on Christmas Eve. Her and Mysha never rekindled their friendship, so they didn't really speak to one another, and she didn't bother getting Violet a gift. After her birthday, she had to go back home to celebrate Christmas with her grandparents on her father's side. Despite her mother winning custody, she didn't keep her father out of her life.
