Kk

Man, I don't know what it is, but I can't stop thinking about Angel. Like, every time I close my eyes, I see that damn smile. It's annoying as hell, but in a good way, ya know? I don't even know if she feels the same way, but I'm about to find out.

I spent the whole night tossing and turning, trying to figure out how to ask her. Should I just be upfront? Should I play it cool? Man, I ain't never been this nervous about a girl before. Paige would clown me if she knew I was stressin' like this.

By the time morning came around, I had made up my mind. I was just gonna do it. Ain't no point in waiting around. Plus, if I keep waiting, I'ma drive myself crazy.

When I got to practice, everybody was already there, foolin' around like usual. I spotted Angel stretching with Q, laughing about something dumb no doubt. My heart started beatin' faster than it does in a close game. I don't know why I'm so shook. She's just a girl, right? Nah, she ain't just any girl—she's the girl.

I knew I had to catch her alone, though. So I waited for the right moment. After practice, when everyone was heading out, I saw my chance.

"Aye, Angel, hold up a sec," I called out, trying to sound casual. She turned around, looking all sweaty but still fine as hell. How she does that, I don't even know.

"What's up, Kk?" She smiled at me, and I felt my brain short-circuit for a second.

"Uh, you got any plans later?" I asked, trying to keep it cool. "I was thinking maybe we could, I dunno, grab something to eat? Just the two of us?"

Her eyes widened for a second, and I swear my heart stopped. She looked like she was about to say something, but then she just smiled again, softer this time.

"Sure, Kk. I'd like that," she said, and just like that, my nerves went from 100 to zero.

"Cool, cool," I nodded, trying to play it off like it wasn't a big deal. "I'll text you the details."

As she walked away, I couldn't help but smile to myself. Guess I was about to find out if this thing between us was real or just in my head. But whatever happened, I was ready for it.
