Waking up the next morning after our date, I had one thing on my mind: Angel. I don’t know if it was the kiss or the fact that we were finally admitting we liked each other, but something had shifted between us. And I couldn’t stop thinking about it.
We had practice today, and I knew I’d see her there, but it was different now. How do you act around someone after you’ve kissed them? I mean, we were already close, but now there was this... tension. And I didn’t know how it was gonna play out.
I got dressed, threw on my practice gear, and headed out of the dorm. Angel was already gone when I woke up, probably wanting to get some extra work in or just avoid the awkwardness. Either way, I wasn’t mad. I just hoped we could figure this thing out.
Practice was brutal, as always. Paige and Azzi were running their mouths, trying to hype everybody up while old man Geno was barking at us to pick up the pace. It’s funny how everything feels normal, even when your whole world is shifting.
Angel and I caught eyes a couple of times during drills, but she was focused, and I didn’t want to mess with that. The girl’s got a game to win this season, and I wasn’t about to be the reason she got distracted.
