Aditya slumped in the leather chair of Yuvraj's cabin, trying to focus on the file in front of him. The scent of rich mahogany and expensive cologne filled the air, but it did nothing to ease his discomfort. The ticking clock seemed louder in the silence, as if mocking his boredom.
He tapped his pen against the desk, eyes wandering over the luxurious room that his brother dominated-dark tones, sleek furniture, and an aura of authority that Aditya couldn't care less about.
This was Yuvraj's world, not his.He looked down at the file, the words blurring together. "Profitable investments... growth potential..." Blah, blah, blah. It all sounded the same to him. He sighed heavily and leaned back, rubbing his temples."This is torture" he muttered to himself. "I'd rather be stitching up wounds than staring at this nonsense.
"His mind wandered back to the anatomy classes and clinical rotations he loved so much.
The thrill of diagnosing a patient, the satisfaction of knowing he made a difference-these were the things that fueled him. But here he was, stuck in a cabin that felt more like a cage, simply because his father insisted he should learn the ropes of the family business.
he thought, frustration building inside him. But here he was, stuck in Yuvraj's office, forced to pretend he was interested in the family business because that's what was expected of him."You'll need this someday, Aditya," his father had insisted, his tone leaving no room for debate.
The old man's hand had rested heavily on his shoulder, a gesture that felt more like a chain than a comfort.Aditya shook his head, trying to push away the sense of suffocation. He reached for his phone, scrolling aimlessly through social media to pass the time, but even that felt dull. He leaned back in the chair, closing his eyes, hoping for a moment of peace in the midst of the chaos that was his life.
But that moment was short-lived. The door to the cabin suddenly burst open, jolting him out of his thoughts. In a panic, Aditya grabbed the nearest file, flipping it open and pretending to be engrossed in its contents.
"See, Papa, I've read everything. It's a good company to invest in; we should-"
His voice trailed off as he realized there was no response.Slowly, he lifted his head, and his heart sank. Advait stood in the doorway, a wide grin on his face, while Akshay leaned casually against the doorframe, arms crossed, his expression a mix of amusement and disbelief.
"Mai jab se baat kar raha hoon, at least muhje batana tha na tum log ho..
Aditya grumbled, feeling a mix of embarrassment and frustration.Advait couldn't hold it in any longer. He threw his head back and laughed, the sound echoing through the room. "Aditya, the file you're holding-first, check what it is!
"Aditya blinked, looking down at the file in his hands. His face flushed with embarrassment. It wasn't a business file at all. He had grabbed Yuvraj's personal journal, the one he knew was strictly off-limits.
"Oh, come on!" Aditya groaned, slamming the journal shut and tossing it aside in frustration.
"Tumhare ghar mein humans nahi, funny creatures rehte hai," Advait teased, still chuckling. "One who doesn't like to share anything related to him and disappears God knows where. The second one doesn't know the B of business and still pretends to work here. And the third... oh, what should I say about her? Always lost in her own world-whoever marries her will return her the next day!" Advait's laughter echoed even louder, almost vibrating the walls.
