Later that afternoon, Jay ran up to me. He told me to sit in the first row. That it would be worth it? Whatever, I already planned to go. I'm just not sure why he wanted me there.
When I made it to the game, both crowds were clapping in the same rhythm. The cheerleaders were hyping the crowd, and Audrey was dancing with the mascot. I looked over at Jay and Carlos. Jay stood and stood Carlos up to. I watched as Carlos slipped out of his grasp and sat back down. Only for Jay to jerk him back up again. I lightly laugh. Someone walked in front of me. I look up to see Rupert. "This seat taken?" He asks. I slightly scoot over to make room. "You're a fan of the sport?" He asks. I felt something creep behind me. I side eye him. "No, I'm a fan of Jay." I Correct. He nods his head. I smack my hand on my head. Also smacking his hand. He jerks it off. "Nice try, boobear." He rolls his eyes. "Pay attention to the game." I instruct. "You know, you can't tell me what to do, right?" He tells me. I smirk at that. "Listen, I always get what I want. No matter what." He places his hands on his knees. "Well, you'll learn too, that I don't just bat my eyes for everyone."
"But you do for me?" I interrupt. He scoffs a laugh. "You wish." Jay goes to throw the ball in the net, but the other team dogdes it. "Dang it." I say annoyed. The other team started to cheer. The game still continued. Jay threw the ball to Ben. We watch as Jay grabs Carlos for a shield. The game was finally getting good. Ben throws the ball back to Jay. Jay thros it at Carlos, and it repealed off his shield. "Go up!" Carlos yelled. Carlos falls to the ground, and Jay jumps over him. He hits the ball into the net, scoring. Rupert and I stood up at the same time. We cheered the loudest. "Go, Jay!!" I scream. "Carlos!" Rupert yells. I laugh at his support. The crowd goes nuts. The narrator was finishing his speech when Ben took the microphone. "What the..?" I say. "Does he normally make a speech?" I ask Rupert. "Not really." He replies just as clueless as me. We both sit down to listen. "Hey, excuse me. Can I have your attention, please?" Ben says. I look over at Jay. He was already staring at me with a smirk. What was going on? Ben stands on the shooter. "There's something I'd like to say." Ben says. He pauses, and everyone looks around confused. "Give me an 'M'." He calls. We all do an 'M'. We yell, 'M'. "Give me an, 'A'." We all do an 'A'. "Give me an, 'L'." We all yell 'L' as we sign it. "What does that spell? " We all yell, "Mal!"
"C'mon, I can't hear you?"
"Mal!" We yell again. It all made sense now. "Ohhh." I wisper. Rupert heard me. "What?" He asks. "Well, isn't it oblivious? He is confessing his love to Mal." He gives a confused look. "You just now realized?" I side eye him. "No, now i understand why Jay wanted me to sit here so close. He wanted me to have a front row seat for entertainment." I lie easily. He nods. "I love you, Mal. Did I mention that?" Ben says, bringing our attention back to him. The crowd, "awws." at Mal. I was trying to hold down my last meal. I see a cheerleader break away from her squad. Must have been Audrey. "Give me a beat!" Ben instructs the band. Doug counted in Spanish before making a rhythm. "Oh, my Maleficent, don't tell me." I say stunned. The whole team started to dance as Ben was making a musical act. "You have got to be joking!" The crowd started to clap to the beat. "What, you don't like singing?" Rupert asks me. He started to clap to the beat. "My mother might be a fan, but I'm not." I answer. He looks at me confused again. "When has your mother ever sung?" He asks me. "When she wanted something." I answer. "I thought she was more into curses." He moved his body to the beat. "What?" Does he have my mother confused with some other villains' story? I roll my eyes. Now I'm confident he isn't anyone important. I mean, besides him stealing, that just proves he isn't from any royal family. I pay attention to the field. Ben jumps onto his mascot. A horse. They he gets thrown into the crowd. We both turn to watch. He was slowly being moved to Mal. While singing still. He finishes his song when he drops to the ground. He went in for a kiss, but Mal rejected. "I love you, Mal." He says into the microphone. "Did I mention that?" Audrey grabs the microphone from Ben. "This should go over well." I stated to Rupert. "Chad's my boyfriend now!" She exclaims. "And I'm going to the coronation with him. So I don't need your pity date." She finishes. She holds Chad's chin and kisses him. "Ohh." Rupert says and puts his fist over his mouth. "Mal! Will you go to the coronation with me?" Ben asks after retaking the microphone. "Yes!" She yells. "She said yes!" Ben yells excited. "I think we heard her the first time." I say. Rupert lightly snickers. Jay walks past me. "What a show, huh?" He walks over to Ben. "The whole team is waiting for you." He says. "Bye." Mal says. I smack my knees. "Well, that was fun!" I say, looking at Rupert. "Definitely one. I'm not going to forget anytime soon." He agrees. I sigh. "Wanna go grab some food?" I offer. "You're paying." He says. I hold up my hand that has his wallet. "Am I?" I narrow my eyes. He gives me a cold look. He tries to grab the wallet, but I jerk my hand away. "Give it back, Y/n." He says, annoyed. I scoffed. "Fine. Here." I drop it in his lap. He looks at me confused. "That didn't take much." He grabs his wallet. I stand up to leave. As I was walking away, I heard him yell. "You took the money out." I smiled wickedly and started to run. I could hear him running up to me. I knew he might tackle me soon. Probably, I'm still new to all the customs of Auradon. I felt him grab my arm. I turned around to punch him, but he managed to catch my fist. "Woah, woah, easy. I thought we were just playing." He defends. I slowly relaxed my fist to indicate I wasn't going to strike. He dropped his other arm but still held onto my arm he grabbed first. I wasn't sure what was happening to me. Usually, I would have hit. I just stared at him without a word. "Give up the money." He held out his free hand. Without thinking, I held it out to him. He looked confused. "Fine. I'll pay." He says. He let's me go. I came back to reality. What in the hades just happened? He walks past me. "You coming?" He looks back to me. I turn around. "Yep." I say relaxing. I slightly relax. "Don't touch me again." I say, and I punch him hard in the arm. He widens his eyes, embracing the pain. With his other arm, he holds onto his upper arm. Where I hit him at. I look at him cold. "Please do not cry." I say dryly. Whatever happened earlier is going to have to wait until later. I'm not sure what happened, but I don't like it. "Never show weakness." Gaston used to advise me. He taught me swordplay when I was young. "Showing weakness is like giving your opponent your armor and sword. It's suicide." His voice rings in my head. I shrug it off.
