I woke up the next morning, a slight pain in my chest. The oh so familiar pain flaring, not too bad but enough to practically shock me out of bed. I stretched, however, trying to ignore the pain. Still tired, I sunk my head back down into Felix's torso, blocking out the ache.

"What's wrong?" He questions.

"Just tired." I mumbled, hoping to go back to bed.

"There's something else." He said. I sunk further into his chest.

"It's nothing, just something that will go away." I felt his hand slide up to my check and lift my face out of his side, to look up at him. He gave me a look, pushing further for an explanation. It's funny really, thinking about it. Felix, a guard of the Volturi, one of the top high ranking and strongest members, showing affection and showing emotions other than hatred and anger. At least towards me. I find it adorable. I couldn't help but smile at him.

"It's just my stomach, I'm sure after eating I'll be fine." I fake. I don't know if he believes me or is just giving up knowing I won't tell him. My heart, it's getting worse... I yawned and reluctantly got up from bed. I walked over to my wardrobe before picking out some clothes.

"I have to leave tomorrow, the others and I. We'll be gone by morning and won't return for a day or so." I was ambushed by the news. I turned back towards him, I knew he was leaving but not so soon.

"It's because of the newborn army, isn't it?" I ask.

"How do you know about that?" He squints. I smirked going back to my clothes.

"I have my ways." I state before frowning down at the clothes in my hands.

"...They're going after Bella, aren't they?" I worry, already knowing.

"Yes." He answered.

"I want to go." I nod with determination.

"No! Out of the question!" He rejects.

"She's my sister and her life is in danger!" I throw back.

"If you go, you could be as well!" He defends.

"Are you forgetting I used to work in the Army?!" I recoiled incredulously and snarky.

"Vampires, Scarlet! Not humans!" We both stared heatedly at a stalemate, daring the other to keep going before giving up. In the end we both looked away.

"I'm getting food." I declare. I waltzed for the door, seeing that he was about to follow.

"And don't follow me..!" I order with sass. He sat back down on the bed obediently as I continued for the door. I opened it and rushed out. I smirked evilly to myself and briskly made my way down the other hall before taking off in a full sprint. I was just nearing the door when I heard Felix yelling for me, onto my actions, but it was too late. I had just rushed into the throne room with Felix running vampire speed after me. I nod curt and usher my way in front of the thrones.

"Scarlett. Felix... What has got you two so... riled up?" Aro greets, standing up in bemusement.

"I wish to go to Forks with the others tomorrow." I request directly. He shook his head without hesitation.

"I'm afraid you cannot, request denied." He shuts down instantly. Feeling Felix smugness from here.

"Sir, there are newborns going after my sister. It is my job to protect people, my family specifically." I keep up.

"Are you forgetting that you no longer work there? You are here now." He reminds cheerfully.

"Sir, I am more than willing to stay here for the rest of my life. But I will fight my way out of here to go." I inform candidly. His head raises, pausing for his thoughts before looking over to Felix.
