My eyes slowly flutter open, taking in the light that surrounded me.

My eyes slowly examined the room I was in. Charred walls, wood floor, one central table. I was inside the same old house.

Delta must have brought me in last night.

"Morning sleepy head, didn't think you would ever wake up."

I heard a very familiar voice come from behind where I was sitting, Realizing it was the same protogen from the night before. "Really? How long was I out For?"

"About nine hours, guess you were tired last night. Fell asleep before we even got inside."

"Mm, well, what now Delta?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean what are we going to do now? We don't have anyway out of this place and it isn't going to keep us alive for that long. It's a dump."

"I... haven't thought of something yet, but don't worry, I will."

The morning haze was wearing off and the gravity of our situation was starting to sink in again."Delta we can't stay here, it's a warzone, anyday hundreds of troops will storm this place again and we'll be in the crossfire. I can't fight like this."

"That's it!"

"What's it?"

"Sooner or later a ship will deliver new soldiers and supplies and that's when we  sneak onto a ship and go back to base."

"But don't they drop that stuff from the air, like they did with you?"

"Yes but in a situation where blitzing the opponent isn't necessary we can be more precise in our plans. Meaning we can drop it off by ground."

The plan sounded possible but there still was a lot that could go wrong. "Yeah I guess that'll work but look at me, it's pretty obvious I'm from a different army."

"We'll just have to dress you up, no one will ever notice."

For now I just had to trust what he was saying. It's not like I had any better plans, but the question still lingered of what we would do until then. I guess for now we would just have to lay low and wait for things to play out.

I watched as Delta walked across the room, stopping at the doorway of the old house.

"I'm going out, still need an outfit for you. Will you be okay here?"

"Yeah, I'll be fine." I might have told him that but when he walked out of the doorway I didn't feel fine. By myself, all alone, in the middle of nowhere.

The minutes ticked by, but the more I sat in this house the more I relaxed. The more I payed attention to my surroundings. I saw more than just an abandoned house. It may have been destroyed by senseless conflict but in that void that it left, something new arose.

I could see grass blades sprout through the floorboards, weeds grow from the cracks in the walls, tiny flowers scarcely scattered  around the broken down home. even through all the pain the place may have been though, something beautiful can still grow afterwards.

I wish I could be like this place. I may be broken and damaged, but who's to say I can't come back better. To use the foundation of what is left behind to create something new.

I wonder if that's what Delta feels. He believes in change, it's practically all he talked about. Maybe it would be good to change, to rise up. Jee I don't know, all this stuff is still so confusing. If only I could be given a sign what to do. That would make things so much easier.
