˚₊· ͟͟͞͞➳❥ two years have passed and felix and hyunjin were about to graduate out of college.hyunjin was in his apartment, packing and folding his clothes as he thought about his future. he knew he wanted to pursue art but where, he didn't know. he also was worried about his relationship with felix. they've been together for three years now and it's hyunjin's longest relationship.. and the most precious.
they've talked about staying together no matter where they ended up.. whether that meant 2000 miles apart, they were going to stay together no matter what. they were in love after all. but long distance relationships are hard and hyunjin was confident in their relationship because of the constant validation he's gotten from felix but.. he just didn't want to get left behind.
as he was lost in thought, he heard his front door bell ring. curiously, he got up and walked to the living room, opening the door but the minute he did, his heart sank a little.
there stood yeonjun.
they haven't talked in the past three years, even though felix and yeonjun patched their relationship but hyunjin never got around to apologizing.. he was too focused on passing his classes and making sure felix felt nothing but constant love from him.
so it was awkward seeing him after all those years.
"uh, hey.. what are you doing here?" hyunjin cringed internally at how robotic he sounded.
"i'm here to meet changbin, we're going out one last time." yeonjun mumbled as he shifted his foot around.
"oh.. well do you want to come in?"
"sure.." yeonjun sighed as he walked inside slowly and cautiously. not feeling too comfortable and wishing changbin would hurry up.
"changbin just got out the shower so he should be ready in a few." hyunjin offered an awkward smile as he stood there.
"thanks.."
and awkward thick silence filled the room as neither one of them spoke. hyunjin realized that this was a good time to talk to him.. since he's not sure when he'll get the opportunity again.
"hey.. so" hyunjin cleared his throat as he tried to fight the right words, ".. im.. sorry." he mumbled.
yeonjun gasped as he looked up completely shocked. he didn't expect that. after a year passed, he gave up on ever getting an apology because old hyunjin would never apologize for something he did intentionally. i guess this is the effect of being around felix.. he's changed.
"i know i was a shitty friend to you.. secretly plotting to steal your boyfriend. it wasn't my finest moment and i do feel bad for it. i can't say i regret it.. i just hate how i went about it. i could've been less sneaky and weird about it. so for that i'm sorry.. that i ruined our friendship. i'm not apologizing in hopes of being friends again.. i'm apologizing because you didn't deserve it and i know i hurt you.. and for that i feel bad."
yeonjun was speechless. when has hyunjin ever been this empathetic? he can actually tell that hyunjin feels bad and it wasn't some half assed apology.
"i.. i appreciate it. and i forgive you. i forgave you a long time ago. especially with seeing how happy felix looked, he has thing glow about him that he didn't have with me. so you're doing something right. but im sorry too.. for saying all those cruel things about you. clearly i was wrong, you do know how to love and be faithful to someone and i'm happy because regardless of what happened, felix deserves it." yeonjun smiled, just slightly.
"just.. never do that again." yeonjun laughed a little, hyunjin joining in.
"i won't, dont worry. now that i got the boy of my dreams i think i can put my plotting away.. but i do have to constantly put people in check though." hyunjin shook his head.
"yeah, perks of being with felix. you'll have to constantly watch your back from people trying to steal him.. i know that well enough." yeonjun smiled and hyunjin couldn't even feel bad at the little dig he gave at him.. he was starting to understand him.
"yeah.. so what do you plan on doing after this?" hyunjin asked.
"i'm going into dancing. going to become some famous dancer." yeonjun smiled, "what about you?"
"i'm just making sure i don't get left behind." hyunjin smiled sadly.
-
somewhere in between yeonjun and hyunjins conversation, he got a message from felix to meet him at his apartment and of course, hyunjin left not a second later.
when he arrived, it was jisung who greeted him at the door, "hello, hyunjin. i can't believe you're here.. again." jisung rolled his eyes as he let him in.
"good to see you too.. " hyunjin chuckled. hyunjin and jisung were friends because of the simple fact that they both loved felix and wanted him to be happy so they've been dealing with each other, creating a friendship along the way.
"hyunjin's here!" jisung screamed, "he's in his room packing."
"okay."
hyunjin walked over to felix's room, knocking softly on the door that was slightly open, "knock knock."
felix sat up excitedly from the floor to face hyunjin, his hair even longer but now a shiny dark brown.
"hyune!" he ran over with a big smile and leaned on his tippy toes to kiss him on the lips.
hyunjin returned the kiss as he held felix tightly in his arms, loving how close he was to him.
"how was your day so far?" felix pulled away as he turned back around to sit on his bed, patting the spot next to him.
"it was.. good actually." hyunjin smiled as he sat next to felix, obviously lifting him up and placing him on his lap.
"i'm glad," felix giggled as he wrapped his arms around hyunjin's neck, "i actually wanted to talk to you about something.."
"oh yeah? about what?" hyunjin's heart was pounding, he knew where this was going. felix was going to tell him about his plans.
"about .. my future," felix nervously bit his lip, "i was thinking that i have no god reason except one— you, of course— to stay here in korea.. but then i thought again.. i really want to move back home to australia and i'm planning on it.." felix got up and went towards his desk, grabbing something by the picture of the two of them.
he walked back and sat on hyunjins lap, "will you come with me?" felix smiled nervously as he held up two plane tickets to sydney, australia.
hyunjin's breathing stopped as he became filled with excitement and relief that he never knew he could feel before. he pulled felix close to him, and hugged him with every ounce of love in his body, that was left for felix only.
"so i'll take that as a yes?" felix giggled as he returned the embrace, burying his face in the crook of hyunjin's neck.
"of course, i will!" hyunjin laughed, choked up as small tears formed in his eyes.
"oh, hyune.." felix spoke softly as he leaned back to see the tears in his eyes, "why are you crying?" felix pouted.
"i'm just so happy i can continue to be with you. and that.. you're not leaving me behind." hyunjin whispered softly as he smiled through his tears.
"i would never leave you behind.. i love you too much." felix leaned forward to plant the softest kiss on hyunjins lips, tasting the tears that fell from hyunjin's eyes.
hyunjin was the first to pull away, "i love you more, angel. let's move to australia together."
and they sat in each others embrace as happiness and love filled the air around them.
