Collecting papers off the ground. Ford was getting ready to invite Fiddleford over to his home! Ford knew the look on Fiddleford face when he sees the space they get to work in! Ford had the widest grin on his face while throwing away all the paper that was on the floor into the trash. Humming a small tune as he walked off, he thought about Bill and how he was feeling about all of this. He knew Bill was a little apprehensive about bringing another person along on their special project, but once Bill sees what he can create, Ford knows Bill will warm up to him. Brushing the imaginary dust off his hands, he decided to head upstairs and wait for McGucket to arrive. It's always good to be bright and early towards everything!
As Ford headed up the stairs, it wasn't too long before he heard a strong knock on the door. Peering his head up, Ford quickly walked up to the door and stared through the peephole. Through the peephole, he could see a long time friend standing there. Not waiting any longer, Ford opened up the door to face his old friend. McGucket.
"McGucket! It's so good to see you again!" Ford replied with happiness littered all over his tone.
"Ford Pines! My, you've looked like you've settled in well to yer new home!" He replied as Ford waved him off with a big aloof smile.
"Oh come on, don't say that! Come in, come in!" Ford replied back as he moved out of the doorframe to let Fiddleford inside.
He closed the door behind him as he watched Fiddleford examine his home. Ford guessed it was much different to where they both were staying in college. People due tend to associate someone with a specific place, seeing someone on a whole new environment is...strange.
"Well, I'd be darned. You've got a mighty home, Pines. Used yer grant money to invest in this home?" Fiddleford questioned as Ford nodded his head at his old friend.
"Yeah, they built this from the ground up. It's made perfect to my liking," Ford explained with his hands crossed in front of him.
"I can see that!" He chuckled while looking back at his friend with a look of 'you never change'.
Rubbing the back of his neck nervously, Ford said, "Right. Yes..."
He coughed in his hand saying, "Moving on. I wanted to talk about what I talked about on the phone..."
"The vortex?"
"Yes."
"It's absolutely possible, but how and where would be build such a thing?" Fiddleford asked before Ford smiled, he's been waiting for that phrase to appear!
"I have a whole workspace just for us to work in. You'll be surprised of how much I've invested into this shack," Ford explained before he guided Fiddleford down into the basement of his home.
Walking down and down, Fiddleford was examining the walls, looking awe struck at the scenery around him. Ford could feel his whole pride boiling up inside. He couldn't believe that just a few years ago, these men where just creating little robots together just for the heck of it to now on their way to create a portal to a whole different dimension! Oh how time flies. Making their way to the end of the staircase, they made it into the computer/data room.
"Well I'll be darned. It looks like I'm in a room at the highest security building! You bought this all yourself, Pines?" Fiddleford asked Ford as he nodded at his friend and fixed his glasses.
"Indeed I did! But this isn't even the best
part, Fiddleford. Walk through those doors," Ford replied back as he pointed his finger towards the door on the other side of the hallway.Snickering, Fiddleford said, "You seem invested in how I'd react. How long have you've been waitin' on me for?"
"Awhile now. But, nevermind that! Go beyond that door..." Ford answered back quickly as Fiddleford raised a quick eyebrow at his old friend.
