**One year later**
Cato’s PoV
I walk back to my backyard, where Clove and I were playing, after I get a drink. I look at her weirdly while she peers closely at the ground.
“What you looking for?” I ask as she sits up quickly.
“Oh…um…looking for four-leaf clovers.” She says while pulling one out of the ground and placing it in her pocket.
“Want me to help?” I ask nicely. She shakes her head and smiles. The four-leaf clover fits her so perfectly, they were unique and lucky but most of all she made me feel lucky. I check the time and say, “We have to go to school now!” I pull her up by her arms and we run out of my house.

After school, I quickly find Clove to tell her something. I wait for her at the front gate of school and she slowly walks out.
“Oh, didn’t see you there, Cato.” She says casually.
“After training, I need to show you something okay?” I ask urgently.
“Sure! I can’t wait!” She replies while we start to walk in the direction of the Training Academy.
When we arrive at the Training Academy, everyone was seated on the first level for some unknown reason. All the mentors were standing in the front with the head trainer in the middle.
“Okay everyone, we have started a new system.” He orientates. “It will be that you will have a training partner whom you will always train with. You do not get to pick whom you will train with. We will begin reading the list of pairs now.” The head trainer starts reading the list out and it finally came to my name.
“Cato Hadley and Clove Sevina.” He announces and then moves onto the next person.
“Yes!” Clove and I scream out at the same time. We run to each other and I hug her, accidentally picking her up and swinging her around due to my joy. I clear my throat and smile weirdly as we pick up our bags and head to the elevator.
“So…which level?”
“Ooh! Ooh! The highest one! I like that the best!” She says childishly.
“Okay then!” I laugh. I hit the button quickly and the elevator shoots up to the thirteenth level, the highest one.
Bit by bit, people came out of the elevator. Clove wonders to the sword stand and takes one out slowly.
“Be careful with that, it’s heavy.” I warn.
She shrugs her shoulders and continues to pull it out. Her arm falls along with the sword and I cross my arms.
“I told you so.” I say jokingly.
“Don’t be so mean!” She nags and then bursts out laughing. “C’mon, help me up.”
I put the sword back in its place and help her up. “I think you should stick with your knives.” I chuckle.
“That boat has passed.” She says sarcastically. She returns to practising with her knives until Enobaria interrupts.
“Training next week will be all about hand-to-hand combat, so be prepared!”
Clove’s PoV
We walk out of the Training Academy together and I felt anxious of what Cato wanted to show me.
“Where are we going?” I ask.
“Somewhere, it’s a secret.” He whispers mysteriously. We keep walking in a faster pace and when we reach our house, Cato tells me to close my eyes.
“No way am I doing that!” I yell out and then smirk. “You might kill me or something!”
“Like I would do that but if you don’t…I guess I’ll have to make you.” He starts tickling me and I crack up laughing until I fall to the ground.
“Okay fine! I give up!” I surrender.
“No peeking.” He whispers closely to my ear as his hands fold over my eyes. I held them shut as we walk somewhere. Cato takes his hands off my eyes and I could feel his arms hold my waist and guide me. He makes a sudden stop.
“Here it is.”
I look around and my jaw drops. I could literally feel drool coming down from the side of my bottom lip. The beautiful scenery was unimaginable; it had a sparkling lake in front of us, reflecting the colourful sunset. A giant oak tree shaded us and a bench was placed right underneath it.
“Oh my god, it’s beautiful.” I beam.
“You got a little something there.” He teases while pointing at my chin. I wipe it off and my cheeks go red in embarrassment.
“I hate you!” I scream out, not actually meaning it.
“Love you too, Clover.” He laughs.
“Don’t call me that!”
“Since you asked not too, I’ll call you that for the rest of your life.” He sticks his tongue out at me. I cross my arms and pull a sour face.
“Cheer up Clover, I still have one more thing to show you.” He says while patting my head since I’m a lot shorter than him. “Look down.”
I do as he says and see patches of clovers all over the bright green grass.
“Thanks.” I exclaim while hugging him around his waist.
“Glad you like it.” He says while hugging me back.
