Y/N looked gloomily out the window as they thought about it.....how it brought them to tears every time...

"Y/N....I'm so sorry, this should've never happened." Charlie said in such sadness as she saw the tears trickle down Y/N's face as they turned away from Charlie's gaze.

"BUT IT DID!" Y/N yelled at Charlie as they spread their arms out intimidatingly as their eyes widened. Their tone was a mix of anger and frustration but soon it changed to shock and regret.

"I'm so sorry....I didn't mean to snap like that." Y/N said as they had sorrow and guilt in their eyes as they looked back to the window.

At first, Charlie's eyes widened with horror as tears started to form in the crevices of her doe eyes. Her hands reached to cover her mouth as she gasped. Then her expression changed to a sympathetic one as she heard Y/N's apology, she then spoke softly while reaching out a hand to Y/N.

"No, it's fine..." Charlie said softly.

"It isn't." Y/N turned away from her touch harshly. 

"It's a gut wrenching feeling that twists like a knife, you're helpless and vulnerable and all you want in this second is that one person....AND THEY'RE DEAD!" 

Y/n broke down in tears as they dropped to the floor on their knees and cradled themselves in their arms as they shook violently and sobbed.

Charlie's pupils went small as she rushed to Y/N's side and hugged them from behind to comfort them.

"You don't deserve this...." Charlie cooed to Y/N.

Y/N turned their head to meet Charlie's soft and tender gaze, they choked on their tears as they barely breathed out the words in only just a mumble.

"It's my fault...."

                                                                          (Four Months Earlier)

"The sunshine tried to break through the clouds to bring on the sunrise...from what I could see. It looked to be about 7:00 AM..."

"Y/N?" a nurturing voice called out.

"Hmm?" Y/N woke up from their day dream as they went wide eyed and then back to normal as they returned their gaze to fixate on the sunrise around.

"Aren't you excited for your first day in twelfth grade?!" The nurturing voice turned into an excited one.

"Yeah...I'm gonna miss all my friends once I head off to college...I heard most of them won't be attending the same one I'm going to."

Y/N's parent smiled tenderly as they softly gazed at them through the rear view mirror. 

"Ah, don't worry about it. There's always the weekends you'll get to see each other. Plus you'll make new friends along the way."

Y/N's parent said in a chipper tone as they turned the corner and headed onto the next lane.

"I guess..." Y/N said softly.

After an hour of a long gentle ride to school, the vehicle finally pulled up into the parking lot of Y/N's high school. Y/N broke away from their day dream as they unbuckled their seat belt and put on their backpack. They then opened the door and as soon as they were about to leave for the school building...
