The brothers, Jin and Taehyung, along with their spouses Yoongi, Jungkook, and well Jimin, huddled together in the days leading up to the company's anniversary. They were determined to clear Namjoon's name and reveal the truth. The plan had to be perfect, down to the last detail. The only problem was that the deeper they dug, the more elusive the true betrayer seemed. The traitor remained hidden, casting a shadow over their hopes.
The night of the anniversary arrived, and the Kim family gathered, their hearts heavy with both anticipation and fear. As the grand hall filled with guests, the air buzzed with an uneasy tension. The brothers had done their best to prepare, but the lack of solid evidence gnawed at their confidence.
Jin sighed, running a hand through his hair. "We've come so far, but we still don't have all the answers. We can't let Namjoon take the fall for this."
Yoongi placed a hand on his shoulder. "We won't. We'll find a way. We just have to stay sharp."As the party began, the room was suddenly flooded with a swarm of media personnel. Cameras flashed, reporters whispered, and confusion spread among the family. None of them had invited the press.
"Who called the media?" Jimin asked, his voice laced with anxiety.
"I don't know, but this isn't good," Jungkook muttered, eyes scanning the room.
Their attention was soon drawn to a surprising sight—Hoseok entering the hall with Mr. and Mrs. Jung by his side. The Kims hadn't expected Hoseok's family to attend, especially not in such a public setting.
Mrs. Kim quickly approached Mr. and Mrs. Jung with concern etched on her face. "We're so glad to see you, but we didn't expect you to be here tonight."
Mrs. Jung offered a polite smile. "We received a formal invitation from the Kim empire. It was a bit surprising, but we couldn't decline."
The Kims exchanged puzzled glances. If the Jungs were invited, and the media was here, then...
"Namjoon," Jin whispered, realization dawning on him. "He must've been the one behind this."
Before they could process this, the lights dimmed, and a hush fell over the crowd. All eyes turned to the grand staircase as Namjoon began his descent. He was dressed in a stunning black tuxedo, his every step measured and graceful. His smile, however, lacked the warmth of his
usual dimples, a clear sign to those who knew him best that something was amiss.
As Namjoon reached the bottom of the stairs, the room remained silent, waiting for him to speak. The air was thick with expectation.
Taehyung leaned closer to Jungkook, his voice barely above a whisper. "He doesn't look happy at all... What's going on in his mind?"
Jungkook shook his head, equally perplexed. "I don't know, but this isn't just an anniversary celebration. He's planning something big."
Namjoon finally addressed the room, his voice strong but devoid of its usual warmth. "Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests, and dear family... thank you for being here tonight. This company has stood tall for years because of the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. But tonight..."
He paused, glancing around the room, his gaze lingering on his family before settling on Hoseok."Tonight, I have something important to reveal."
The brothers and their spouses tensed, each bracing for what was to come.
Namjoon's voice, calm yet cutting, echoed through the grand hall, each word sharpened with purpose. "But before we get to the main revelation," he announced, "let's take a moment to honor some of our 'best employees.'"
The room remained silent, anticipation hanging heavy in the air. The media's cameras rolled, capturing every second of what was quickly becoming the most sensational event of the year.
Namjoon gestured to the stage behind him, where a screen flickered to life. "Mr. Nam from finance," he began, a smirk playing at the corners of his lips, "has earned the prestigious award of 'Best Money Launderer.'"
Gasps rippled through the crowd as a video began to play, showing Mr. Nam engaging in illegal transactions, funneling company funds into hidden offshore accounts. The media, sensing the story of a lifetime, sprang into action, their flashes illuminating the shocked faces of the guests.
"Mr. Yun from Yun Industries," Namjoon continued, his tone as smooth as ever, "deserves the title of 'Best Backstabber.'"
Another video played, this time showing Mr. Yun in secret meetings with rival companies, leaking confidential information that had cost the Kim empire millions. The room buzzed with whispered disbelief, the gravity of the betrayal sinking in.
"And Mr. Jo from JJ Enterprises," Namjoon's voice grew colder, "let's not forget to commend him for being the 'Best at Handling Customer Sales'—by selling our client database to our competitors."
The next video was even more damning, showing Mr. Jo accepting bribes in exchange for sensitive customer data. The atmosphere in the room grew thick with tension, the betrayal cutting deeper with each revelation.
But Namjoon wasn't finished. He turned to face the crowd directly, his gaze icy as it fell on Jieun, standing near the back, her face pale as a ghost.
"And last but not least," Namjoon's voice dripped with venomous sarcasm, "Jieun—or should I say Shijin? She went so far as to try and ruin my life by accusing me of cheating... and soon, she was going to fabricate a rape case against me."
The crowd froze, jaws dropping as Namjoon turned back to the screen. "But let's see the truth, shall we?"
A video began to play, recorded from a hidden camera in Namjoon's watch. It showed the night Jieun claimed they had slept together. The footage revealed a very different story: Jieun's advances, Namjoon's clear refusal, and the moment he left the room without even touching her. The evidence was undeniable.
Gasps of shock turned into murmurs of outrage as the truth was laid bare for all to see. The media scrambled, reporters barking into their microphones, capturing the downfall of those who had tried to bring down the Kim empire.
Just then, the doors swung open, and the Inspector General entered, flanked by police officers. "Mr. Nam, Mr. Yun, Mr. Jo, and Ms. Shijin," he announced sternly, "you are all under arrest for fraud, corporate espionage, and conspiracy."
The four culprits were swiftly handcuffed and led out of the room, their faces ashen with fear and shame. The party ended in chaos, but the Kim family remained composed, knowing they had triumphed over those who had sought to destroy them.
With the guests ushered out, Namjoon finally made his way to the special room prepared for the Kim and Jung families. He pushed the door open to find them all gathered, their faces a mixture of relief, shock, and pride.
As Namjoon entered, a heavy silence fell over the room. Jin, Taehyung, Yoongi, Jungkook, Jimin, Hoseok, and their parents looked at him, their eyes wide with a million unasked questions.Namjoon took a deep breath, his earlier cold demeanor softening as he faced his family. "It's over," he said quietly, his voice cracking slightly. "The truth is out."
For a moment, no one spoke. Then, Mrs. Kim stood, crossing the room to her son. She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him into a tight embrace. "You did well," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion.
One by one, the rest of the family joined them, surrounding Namjoon in a protective circle of love and support. The weight of the past few weeks finally lifted, replaced by a sense of unity and hope.
As they stood together, Namjoon felt the tightness in his chest begin to ease. For the first time in what felt like forever, he allowed himself to breathe, knowing that no matter what came next, his family would face it together.
