When morning light crept through the curtains, Hoseok stirred, feeling the warmth of the bed but noticing that Namjoon was gone. Confused, he reached for his husband but found only the cool sheets. Sitting up, he noticed a note left on the bedside table. With a sinking heart, he opened it.

"Emergency at the office. I'll make it up to you. Love you."

Hoseok's heart sank. Their anniversary—did Namjoon really forget? The thought made his chest ache. He glanced around the empty room, the remnants of their night still lingering in the air, but now it felt bittersweet.

He pulled himself out of bed, a frown settling on his face as he got dressed. It hurt that none of their family or friends had wished him a happy anniversary. The day felt colder without the warmth of their usual celebrations. As he moved through the house, the emptiness echoed in his heart, amplifying his sadness. Would he really have to face the day alone?

Hoseok was still reeling from the disappointment of the morning when his phone rang, jolting him out of his thoughts. He glanced at the screen and frowned at the unknown number. Hesitantly, he answered, "Hello?"

"Hoseok? You need to come to this address immediately. Someone named Namjoon has had an accident," a deep voice on the other end said, urgency lacing his tone.

Panic gripped Hoseok's heart. "What do you mean an accident? Is he okay?" He felt a rush of adrenaline as he quickly strapped his babies into their car seats, a million thoughts racing through his mind.

"He's at this location. Just hurry!" the voice said before hanging up.

With his heart pounding, Hoseok drove as fast as he could, glancing nervously at the rearview mirror to check on Soobin and Heesung. "Don't worry, babies. Papa's going to make everything okay," he whispered, trying to soothe his own nerves as much as theirs.

But as he neared the address, a group of men dressed in black suddenly stepped into the road, blocking his path. Hoseok slammed on the brakes, confusion washing over him. "What's going on?" he shouted, but before he could react, the men surrounded his car.

They opened the doors, and one of them reached for his babies. "Get out. We're taking them," he ordered, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"Wait! No! What are you doing?!" Hoseok cried, panic flooding his voice.

Without a word, the men took the babies from their car seats and ordered Hoseok to get out. Trembling, he stepped out of the car, feeling helpless as they restrained him. "Please, you can't take them!" he pleaded, but they ignored him, ushering him into a waiting van.

Inside, he was instructed to change into a suit they provided, his heart racing with fear and confusion. A couple of women then entered the van, expertly doing his hair and makeup, their hands gentle and swift. He could hear the muffled sounds of his babies' laughter in the background, which provided a small comfort amidst the chaos.

Once dressed, he was blindfolded, and the world around him faded into darkness as he was led somewhere. He could feel his heart pounding in his chest, anxiety surging as they finally removed the blindfold.

When he opened his eyes, he was greeted with an explosion of color and sound. His family and friends stood before him, beaming with joy, and right in the center was Namjoon, cradling both of their children in his arms.

"Surprise! Happy anniversary!" they all shouted in unison.

Hoseok's heart swelled, and he felt tears prick at the corners of his eyes as he rushed forward. "Namjoon!" he cried, throwing his arms around his husband. "You scared me! I thought you were hurt!"
