Qimir's P.O.V
He couldn't sleep.
He didn't even know if he would be able to, as he couldn't help but watch over Eli as she slept. So far, she had been sleeping soundly, but it was only a matter of time before a nightmare stirs her up once again.
After what he did to her, he realized that he had dug out her deepest, darkest memories, which he regretted doing so. He didn't expect it to be so much worse. And being all too familiar with these kinds of things, he knew it would only start to haunt her again in the form of nightmares.
In this case, the least he could do for her was keep those nightmares at bay as long as she was with him.
Meanwhile, Qimir decided to keep himself busy by wiping his cortosis helmet clean. He had been hiding it carefully ever since he brough Eli here, since he was not yet ready for her to find out his true identity.
He didn't even know when he would ever be ready.
He wondered, how would she react if she finds out that he had killed a handful of Jedi? That he draws power from the dark side? That he is, in fact, what people would call a 'sith'?
If Eli ends up abandoning him, he might lose it. He might end up destroying everything in her path so she had no choice but to return to him.
Qimir shook his head to free himself from his delusion. He had always been in control of his thoughts and his emotions, but ever since Eli appeared, he always found himself losing control.
She was right.
It was all because he kept confusing her as Elysia.
He had established the fact that Eli was an entirely different person, having gone through a different life and circumstances as Elysia. Therefore, he had no right to keep Eli to himself. But he still couldn't help but be in awe at the fact that despite their differences in upbringing, they still ended up so alike to each other.
Qimir's thoughts were interrupted when he saw Eli stir in her sleep. He put down the helmet and walked towards her bed to look at her more closely. Her peaceful face just a few minutes before had started to contort in pain, her brows furrowing deep.
Her nightmare had started.
Qimir gently placed his hand over her forehead, shutting his eyes closed as he braced himself for what he would see in her mind again.
It was snippets of the time she was in captivity, mostly the moments she was being whipped. He concentrated hard to make the images dissipate, but for some reason, he found it harder than he expected. Instead, it felt like he was being pulled into her nightmare the harder he fought it.
All of a sudden, a searing pain slashed across Qimir's back as if he felt Eli's pain himself, and he had to withdraw his hand in shock.
He looked at the unconscious Eli in utter confusion. He couldn't comprehend how it was possible that her pain was so potent, that she was able to pass it onto him? Share it with him?
"No... stop..." Eli whimpered, tears now dripping down her face. Qimir knelt down beside her and brought his left hand back to her forehead, and the other one on her cheek. His jaw clenched tightly as he forced his way through her mind in a second attempt to dissipate her nightmare. He fought through the flickering pain on his back and the blinding flashes of blood and darkness in his own head. Finally, he succeeded, and Eli's body slowly relaxed back into a deep slumber.
Qimir stood up and slowly backed away from her, confused as he noticed his hand slightly shaking from the residual force still coursing through it. Not his, but Eli's.
And that's when it clicked in his mind.
Eli did have a strong connection to the force. In fact, it was powerful. Powerful enough to push him back when he tried to dissipate it.
Eli never knew she was a force user, because what she didn't know was that her force was deeply tangled with her pain and agony, which came to her in the form of nightmares because she had been fighting hard to drown them into her subconscious.
She didn't feel it but it was always there deep inside her, just waiting to be unleashed.
And unknowingly, Qimir just did exactly that, after forcefully pulling it out of her subconscious earlier. His heart dropped down in his stomach as the realization dawned on him.
Now that he sensed her power, it was only a matter of time before the Jedi sense it as well. And the Jedi are selfish; they would always want to keep this kind of power to themselves, no matter what it takes. To keep it in check, and bend it according to their self-made rules.
Either they take her, or kill her.
Qimir's hands clenched at that thought alone. He will never let them do both.
Not now.
Not again.
