CHAPTER 4

SERYOSO ANG mukha ni Kairo na nakatitig sa mensahe ni Caifus na siyang nasa kanyang kaliwang kamay. Kagat-kagat niya ang kanyang labi na inilapat ang likod sa swivel chair na inuupuan at marahang hinilot ang sentido. Hindi niya alam pero bigla siyang nakaramdam nang galit—galit na bigla na lang lumitaw pagkatapos niyang maintindihan ang sinasabi.

He is currently at the company for a meeting with his investors. Limang minuto na simula ng matapos ang meeting kaya nasa opisina siya ngayon at nakikipag-palitan ng mensahe sa kaibigan niyang si Caifus na siyang ikatlong pinuno ng organisyon.

He quickly typed a message and sent it. Caifus keeps on bothering him, may importante daw itong sasabihin kaya't nagpupumilit na makipag-kita. Ayaw niya talagang dinidisturbo siya sa gitna ng trabaho, ayaw niyang sinasayang ang oras niya sa mga walang kwentang bagay. He despises wasting his time on meaningless conversations, especially when it's with Caifus. Knowing his friend, he knows how his mind works.

He wearily closed his eyes and gently placed the cellphone on the table. Masyadong pagod ang utak niya nitong mga nakaraang araw dahil sa organisasyon. He doesn't have any problems when it comes to his business; in fact, it is thriving even more. He doesn't rely on anyone else for the company, not even his sister. He doesn't want her to worry about it. He knows how hard and exhausted handling the company kaya as much as possible, he will take control of everything.

Astrella wanted to help him but he refused. Gusto niya mamuhay prinsesa ang kapatid kahit na magkandakuba siya sa pagpapatakbo ng organisyon at negosyo. He promised his parents that he would not neglect her. And he will fulfill his promises until he gets old.

His sister deserves the world. Princess treatment? Why not lavish it on her; he enjoys pampering her as it's where he shows his love. Astrella may be a little meticulous, but he loves how she behaves. Medyo mahiyain lang 'yon dahil hindi sanay makihalubilo sa ibang tao pero pag nakausap mo naman siguradong magugustuhan mo—not in a romantic way, of course.

He's extremely possessive when it comes to her, like, he's really, really possessive. Gusto niya makapagtapos muna ang kapatid nang kolehiyo at makuha ang kursong gusto nito bago 'yang nobyo-nobyo. He wants her to experience the beauty of the world, to enjoy the good things before that relationship. He wants Astrella to experience everything that he didn't get to do when he was a teenager.

He is not upset because the responsibility was passed on to him early; he simply wanted her to experience the feeling of being able to live normally. The feeling na wala kang ibang pino-problema kung hindi ang mamuhay lang nang masaya, yung feeling na kontrolado mo ang buhay mo, na wala kang takot at pangamba. He wants her to experience all of that. Kairo knows that having a relationship is just a hindrance in life, so as much as possible, he reminds her every day.

He's not bitter about love, ayaw niya lang talaga dahil marami siyang iniisip. Ayaw niyang matulad kay Tyler na hanggang ngayon hindi parin maayos kahit na inilagay na sa mental.

Speaking of his friend, he was pleased to learn that he now has something of his own to concentrate on. He helps him, of course. He helped him set up a business because he knew that he needed to shift his thoughts to a different dimension dahil baka mamaya puro Olivia na naman ang maririnig niya.

Tyler's eagerness to destroy his parents was beyond measure. Sino ba naman kasing masisiyahan kapag nalaman mong ipapakulong ka sa mental. But he understands the Montellion's concern, kailangan naman talagang ipagamot si Tyler dahil mas lalo itong lumala.

Alam na alam ni Kairo ang mga kalokohang pinaggagawa ni Tyler. Mula sa pag-patay nito sa mga manliligaw ni Olivia, hanggang sa ginagawa nitong pagsunod at pagkuha ng litrato kahit walang permiso. Obsession is certainly not healthy; it can drive you to madness and exacerbate your insanity. He feels sorry for Tyler, he feels sorry for Olivia, obsession really does not bring any good especially when the actions taken are no longer good.
