♡ lose my breath - changbin

the beach was like a second home to you.

a place that was always welcoming, willing to take you in despite your state.

you'd had your fair share of varying emotions there.

the calming waves, the scent of the sea, the view, everything relaxed you.

you went as often as you could in the warm temperatures, trying to maximize the time before the winter came around, freezing everything.

the first hot day of the summer came, and in turn you came to the beach.

there, you saw a new lifeguard.

he was hot, really.

buff, cute, cool looking, you'd wondered what his name was.

but soon you remembered why you were there, when your friend, yeji, tapped you on the shoulder.

"you're staring."

you rolled your eyes, "am not."

she giggled a, "sure", and you two set your things down, ready to have fun.

she quickly strayed sunscreen on the both of you, running off and saying, "first one in the ocean wins!"

"hey! no fair, cheater!"

and little did you know, the new lifeguard was looking at you too.

you returned to the beach quicker than you'd like to admit.

but could anyone blame you? the beach, paired with the cute lifeguard, how could you ever want to leave?

you returned frequently for the next week.

"hey, you come here pretty often, huh?"
you heard someone ask, you were reading, but accidentally slammed the book shut due to the surprise of someone talking to you.

"sorry." you looked up, only to find the lifeguard you'd been simping over- thought was cute.

"o-oh it's okay, but yeah. i come here as often as i can. this might sound cringey or something, but it's like my home."

he shakes his head, "no it's cool, i relate. that's the reason i got this job, i love the beach too. and of course i had to flex my sexy muscles you know."

he flexed said muscles, making you blush and laugh.

"my name's y/n."

"changbin," he said, extending his hand.

you shook it, smiling.

being there everyday, sitting next to him, sparked a new and interesting conversation everytime.

soon, changbin became one of your best friends.

you'd talk to him about just about everything. the weather, school, work, hobbies, whatever came to mind.

and honestly, you felt comfortable with him, like he was a childhood friend who'd been there for you through thick and thin.

the friendship was so comfortable, you wondered if he would ever see you as more than a friend.

you hoped he would.

it was way too cool to be in a body of water. fall was arriving quickly and it showed. you two were the only ones at the beach that day, and you blushed at the fact it felt like a date.
