it had been a while since i last sat here / watching the world go by outside my window at the warm air & the swaying leaves of the apricot trees / the warm breeze carried the scent of sunscreen / salt air / & blooming flowers / filling the air with a dreamy & almost mystical aura / i watched quietly as the sun’s rays shimmered through the leaves of the trees /causing them to sway & the wind-chimes to jingle gently in the breeze / the windows of the nearby buildings were flung wide open / allowing the heat to flow through & giving the sidewalk the inviting atmosphere of a hot summer day / in the distance / the sound of children playing with bubbles and laughing could be heard / along with the occasional ice-cream truck passing by / it was as if there was no other time that existed except for summer / a sense of comfort that was incomparable against any other season /

i begin to wonder if we’re living in parallel universes / & everything we don’t have in this present time is what we’re living at the same time in another world / maybe that’s why we fight for things that seem forced / because in other parallel world / those are the things our soul knows and cherishes / it’s as if there’s an invisible line separating us from those things / & it sometimes feels like we can reach out and touch them but can never cross over / as i gaze upon the world from here / i can’t help but wonder . . .

am i really missing out on much after all?

sure / there’s that invisible line separating us from the things we crave in this existence /

but what’s really at the other side?

is it really so utopian over there?

or are we just fooling ourselves into thinking that life is better without experiencing it through our own eyes?

the latter seems much more reasonable. after all / the grass always tends to be greener on the other side / doesn’t it . . ?

for now / i can only watch and wait / dreaming & longing for that which i cannot have but can never stop desiring /
