Grey Prologue 3: Immortal Reporter
"Do your damn job!"
"Sorry sir..."
My editor in Chief throws the papers in my face,
"Bah, all of these are useless! Why are you covering the story for a villain? We want heroes! HEROES do you get it through your thick skull? People want to see celebrities, not some wrecked sob story about some villains!"
"But sir! This is very important, the fact that heroes and villains line of morality is being blurred, it's an important fact that people need to see–"
The editor in chief kicks me to the ground,
"That's it, you're fired from today! Leave this place..."
"But—"
"NOW!"
I walked out of the station... is this the end of my life? I looked up at the bright sky... watching the clouds go by and by... My name is Nicole Ramos, every news station I try to get into all refuse me... The reason why? It's because I tell the truth.
In times of great change, people don't realize the actions villains take is due to the way we treat them... I need their stories to be heard, so more people can empathize and change, villains need redemption... I won't lie, there is truly great evil in this world, people who matter what cannot be forgiven... But there are many that are... Isn't it a reporter's job to show the truth?
I'll need to go back to my roots... this is Egrad City, a small city state in the Apristan continent... I need to look around the undergrounds a bit more...
"You there."
I turned to my left, "hello? Who..."
It was a man with a beige trench coat, wearing a beige hat,
"I see that you just walked out of Egrad News Station."
"Ah haha yes, although... I don't work here... anymore."
"How does a deal sound?"
"Deal?"
"Come work with us... and we can give you the freedom to post any news you want."
"Wait, who are you?! I'm not accepting anything shady—"
The man lifts the hat up, "I am Dudley Bax..."
"hmmm not very familiar with the name—"
"I am a journalist for the Stilton News Station—"
I jump up, "Wait, I've heard of Stilton! Is the famous Silton recruiting me? Sign me up, their base is in Solis City right? That's like what a few nations away?"
Dudley looks at me nervously, "Actually... I need you to travel across the Apristan continent, as new branches of the Stilton News Station are opening up in this region."
"Eh?"
"We will give you freedom to choose whatever news you want to put out in the world, and in return visit all the branch stations across this continent and cover one piece of news on each capital city."
One piece of news that they want? Traveling across this content doesn't seem that bad, and I get to choose whatever I want to put... But the part where they only want one news for each capital I visit is very suspicious. Ah who am I kidding this is a deal of a million dollars!
"Of course I'll take it!"
"Then come with me to the Egrad City branch, your work starts soon."
"Work?"
