after hours of wearying training, along with sweat sticking on his shirt, sakusa had finally bathed. he felt satisfied and contented that he was finally clean enough to his liking.

he wore his black tracksuit that had a little bit of mint green on the side, paired with his signature face mask.

he and his cousin, komori, walked together in the outdoor corridor that led to the cafeteria (which was mainly for males) under the starry skies. he listened to komori talk, his hands both in the pocket of his tracksuit jacket for warmth.

his eyes observed his surroundings until they landed on a big gymnasium with bright lights; it was night so it was brighter and more luminous. as they walked past, sakusa's gaze not leaving the bright gym, he noticed a familiar figure.

you thrust forward, performing a lunge— your dominant hand that held the epée sword touched the shoulder of your opponent while your front leg extended for you to lean forward to your opponent.

a small beep was heard from the scoring machine beside you, another point was added to your score, making you exhale in relief under your headgear.

the black-haired boy never knew how fencing and its way of scoring a point would work but whatever you did, it was impressive. it impressed him; your speed, flexibility, and reaction time were on point. no wonder you were the best.

just as you were about to position yourself, you glanced to your side and saw sakusa looking in your direction— or you, rather. noticing that you looked at him, he quickly looked away and continued to walk coolly.

komori noticed his action and looked in the direction he was looking. "huh? is there something wrong, kiyoomi? what were you looking at?" the brown-haired male asked, still looking behind them as they continued to walk.

"nothing." he responded, yet he too wondered why he had specifically looked at you in the room full of other fencers.

"l/n," your coach clapped her hand twice loudly, "focus!" you snapped out of your trance and cleared your throat as you repositioned and refocused yourself.

"en garde. pret? allez!" you swiftly lunged forward as you disregarded the fact that he was looking at you. although, it got you curious because why was he looking at you?
