a day had passed since the all-japan youth camp and you haven't unpacked your bag yet. your only excuse to yourself was because you were still too exhausted from the ten laps you had done last friday.

as you lay on your bed, you glanced at your bag and suddenly got the motivation to unpack for some reason.

was there something in your bag that made you want to unpack now?

you stood up from your bed and made your way towards your bag that was unopened for a day. you knelt and slowly opened your bag— it wasn't as messy as you expected but it definitely did not look like the way you packed it days before the camp.

you first took your fencing gear then your clothes. thankfully, it was washed from the laundry at the training center so less hassle for you! soon, it was followed by your personal hygiene and items, without realizing a small, crumpled piece of paper fell out.

setting aside your items, your attention went back to your bag. you notice a piece of paper on your bag but disregard it as trash and shrug.

yet the black-haired boy wondered if you had seen the paper. 'that was stupid, i'm never doing anything like that again.' sakusa thought as he glanced at his phone with no message from you.

but you'd do stupid things to become friends with the person you admire as a fellow athlete, right?

the next school day, the boy purposely walked in the outdoor corridor, specifically right after his morning practice, that passes by the fencers' gymnasium where you might be.

just as he predicted, you walked out of the gymnasium. you waved goodbye to your teammates and right after, your gaze automatically shifted to a familiar figure whose hands were in his pocket as he walked.

you gleefully waved at him with a smile as you slightly jogged towards him. "we must be a married couple in our past lives; wherever i go, you're there too!" you giggled at your statement.

he shrugged as you both subconsciously walked together, side by side, leaving you to talk about random things while sakusa listened.

he wanted to ask if you had seen the small paper he had written his number on but he can't help but just listen. your eyes were sparkling as you spoke about fencing.

no wonder you were the best, young fencer— you were totally dedicated to your sport. you truly were admirable for the black-haired boy.

like time passed by at the speed of light, you arrived in front of your classroom. "ah, i wish i could talk to you more, sakusa." you dismally sighed.

"you can have my number." he quietly said making your down demeanor turn cheery once again. "right! how come i didn't think of that." after exchanging numbers, you bid your goodbyes to sakusa.

it felt comfortably weird that you were able to just talk freely, however, whenever, and wherever you liked as long as you were with him; like a married couple.
