your early-morning jogs had become a routine with sakusa and surprisingly, he could handle your talkative side while jogging together. this was also the start of your blooming friendship with him.

when you happen to walk past him or when you notice him, in general, he would sometimes give you small nods to which you return with a smile along with a wave.

of course, athletes were still gossipers; your newfound closeness and interactions with the black-haired boy piqued the curiosity of many, especially female athletes, attention making both you and him the "hot talk" of the camp.

yet, you were both too busy and focused on training so you never heard about it, and neither did he.

"l/n! where are you going? i'll walk with you!" a young, female athlete you don't know suddenly walks beside you which surprised you, "oh, sure..?" you awkwardly respond.

you both walk in silence for a moment until the athlete beside you asks, "are you.. close with sakusa?" she asked, making you somewhat confused.

"uh, i think so? we go to the same school." you heard a small 'ah' from the girl. "is he interested in anyone, right now?" she asked once more.

you pondered, it had been three days since you'd started to converse with the boy but all you ever talked about was each other's sports'— more on yours but same thing.

"i'm sorry, i don't think he and i are that close to talk about our love life so i don't know."

the girl was clearly disappointed but kept a smiley facade on. "ohh, that's fine! say, if he isn't interested in anyone right now, could you introduce me to him? please?"

you awkwardly smiled at her and nodded, "thank you, l/n!" she hugged you for a short moment before running off in the opposite direction. you process what just happened before proceeding to walk. "i should look for sakusa." you muttered to yourself.

on your way to the cafeteria, you see the guy you were looking for. once he noticed you, he gave you a small nod, even almost walking past you.

"stop, stop, stop!" you extend your left arm out in an attempt to block his way. he raised his eyebrows in confusion as he stopped. "can i ask a question? it's a personal one."

"okay?"

"are you interested in anyone? someone asked me to ask you."

'interested in anyone?' sakusa mused, was he interested in anyone? i mean, you piqued his interest, so was he interested in you?

he pondered for a moment before reluctantly nodding. "i guess?" he shrugged. you let out a small 'oh' as you nodded, "i see, okay! see you anywhere, sakusa!" you waved at him with your usual smile and turned your heel to walk away.

despite your figure slowly decreasing, his gaze was still on you until you could fully disappear from his sight. 'she's admirable and interesting but she's also.. something.'
