waking up early at exactly five am is not for the weak. you drowsily sit on your bed, rubbing your eyes, as your roommate still slept soundly on her bed. you glanced at the wall clock before standing up and stretching.

you slightly open your room's curtains, taking a peek at the weather's condition. it wasn't snowing but it sure did look cold.

you quietly put on a tracksuit along with a scarf and earmuffs and silently walked out of your assigned room. as you shut the door, you walk alone with your footsteps following.

thankfully, the girls' rooms were just on the second floor so you didn't have to tire yourself out from walking down the stairs.

you had planned to go on a short, five-lap jog at the running track as per your workout plan to keep your body in shape. pushing the two-glass door, you noticed it was already open meaning someone unlocked it or it was left unlocked yesterday.

you quietly exited the building as you felt the cool, chilly breeze embrace you. looking around, you see a familiar mop of curly, black hair. 'isn't that sakusa?' you thought, walking down the small stairs.

you walked up to the figure who was stretching on the running track as he exhaled, small smoke from the coldness coming out of his mouth.

when you were about to call the boy out, sakusa beat you to it and turned around in your direction. it was silent for a few seconds before you opened your mouth to ask, "were you.. the one who opened the glass doors?"

you pointed at the door you previously walked out of as he glanced at the door. "yeah." he quietly said, going back to his stretching. "oh," you muttered, "are you going on a jog? mind if i join?"

he glanced at you again, this time you were beside him but at a good distance. he took a good look at you before nodding in agreement. you smiled in delight yet your scarf covered it up.

"how many laps are you doing?" you asked as you joined him with his stretching. "ten, you?" he asked as you hummed, "i'm doing five, i'll join you on your fifth lap." you throw him a quick smiled before proceeding to stretch your legs.

muttering a small 'okay', he jogged off, leaving you to stretch alone. you pondered if he could finish ten laps without feeling like you're dying because if you were to do ten whole laps on the big running track, you would collapse on the seventh lap.

after waiting for a few minutes, you've finished your stretching, sakusa was finally on his fifth lap. you smoothly joined him, jogging by his side at a good distance.

you glanced at him and he looked like he hardly broke a sweat. 'probably because of the cold weather.' you thought as you both jogged in silence, just the small exhales were heard.

on your third lap, he was on his eighth, you decided to break the silence by asking about his sport but he beat you to it yet again. "is fencing hard?"
