Lee Jiyoon
Just like that, the cold chilly winter I arrived in, passed by– thankfully. I enjoyed the heavenly cherry blossoms in the spring which was rather short lived. The cerulean sky and viridescent fields in the summer was a sight to behold. I could already hear the calming chirp of crickets, the best of summer gone and the new fall yet to arrive. I had lived here for three seasons.
"Jiyoon-a, it's going to rain today. Take an umbrella with you when you go outside."
"Yes halmoni."
And it's been five months since the day halmoni collapsed. She was doing well on the surface except for the fact that she misses Yoongi, he hadn't contacted us all this time. I knew why he didn't but the poor halmoni had no idea. All she knew was that they weren't allowed to use phones. She often inquired me about his debut, and when she can watch her grandson on TV. But how do I tell her he wasn't coming back home because he was embarrassed, that he couldn't debut.
BTS didn't debut, instead Bighit Ent. debuted a girl group out of no where. That too in July instead of May 2012. I don't know if that's what happened in the original timeline, or if the timeline was repairing itself as I once predicted. But I was sure about one thing.. whether I interfere or not, the future will unfold just as I know it to be.
Future can not be changed.
"Halmoni~ I'm back. I brought the fish bread you asked me for." I called for her. I wiped the rain droplets that somehow found their way to me. It was raining heavily outside. After wiping my dirty shoes, I placed them neatly and removed my wet socks.
The house was too quiet.
I had a sense of forebonding.
It was today.
"Halmoni?" I called very softly this time. She was sleeping peacefully in her bedroom. Her pale face shining in the dim lights of the room. I approached her and touched her neck gently.
"I am not dead yet."
I flinched as she suddenly spoke. "Oh! You're awake. I bought fish cakes."
"I told you to go later. It's pouring out there."
"But you were craving it for so many days."
"Oh Jiyoon-a!" She sighed affectionately. "Go take a warm bath. Then we will eat it together."
"Just save some for me. You can eat it while watching your daily soap. It almost time for it." I suggested.
