Next Morning
Mavis Pov

Mavis slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurry as her head throbbed with a terrible hangover. The memories of the previous night slowly crept back into her mind, and she groaned as she sat up on the bed.

Mavis called out "Jaycee" in a weak voice, hoping for an answer, but there was no response. Her head still aching from the previous night's drinking, she slowly got out of bed and looked around.

Mavis checked the other room but didn't find Jaycee. She then glanced at her phone, noticing a message from her cousin. "May iniwan akong gamot jan para sa hangover mo. Pinagluto narin kita ate. May pupuntahan lang ako. Message me if may kailangan ka."

After reading the message from Jaycee, Mavis went to the kitchen and saw that her cousin had prepared breakfast for her, along with a glass of water and the medicine for her hangover. She took a deep breath as she sat down at the table, feeling grateful for her cousin's thoughtfulness despite the state she was in.

As Mavis glanced at her phone again, she saw another message from her cousin saying "Ate wag ka muna pumunta kay Maeve." She sighed, knowing that her cousin was aware of her recent actions and was trying to protect her from making more mistakes.

"Okay:))," Mavis typed, keeping her response simple. She knew that her cousin meant well and was trying to look out for her, even if it meant keeping her away from Maeve for the time being.

Maeve Pov

Maeve woke up feeling a dull pounding in her head, a reminder of the previous night's excessive drinking. As she looked around her room, memories of the night before slowly returned to her. Images of her friends trying to persuade her to stop drinking, her crying, and her mentioning Mavis's name several times in a slurred tone. The memories made her stomach twist into knots.

Maeve, still feeling disoriented and confused, sat up in bed. Her head was pounding, and her body felt heavy. Just then, she heard a murmur of voices coming from outside her door.

Maeve, still feeling the effects of her hangover, went out and asked her friends in a weary voice, "bat kayo nandito?"

Maiah then responded, her tone filled with concern.

"We just wanted to check up on you, Maeve," she said gently, her worry evident in her words.

Maeve answered with a slightly weary voice, her head still pounding from the hangover.

"Okay lang ako, ate Maiah," she replied, forcing a smile, despite feeling far from fine.

Jaycee, her voice full of concern, spoke up.

"Don't force yourself, Maeve. Alam namin di ka okay. Masakit kung ano nang nangyari sa inyo ni Ate Mavis."

Tears welled up in Maeve's eyes as she spoke, her voice quavering slightly. "Okay lang talaga ako, Jaycee. Don't worry," she said, her expression conveying more sadness than reassurance.

They saw tears streaming down Maeve's face, and without hesitation, they wrapped their arms around her in a comforting hug.

"Iyak mo lang Maeve, We're here for you." Scarlett consoled her, her voice gentle and filled with care.
