Chapter 4: Feeling Under the Weather

POV: JAYCEE

[THE NEXT DAY]

The following day, Jaycee woke up with a smile on her face. She couldn't believe that she had finally confessed her feelings to Scarlet and that, to her surprise, the feelings had been reciprocated. A sense of excitement and nervousness filled her as she thought about what was to come. 
She got out of bed and began her morning routine, all the while thoughts of Scarlett swirling in her head. She thought about the plan she had made last night to court Scarlett and couldn't wait to start.

As Jaycee stepped into the dance room for class to start, she noticed Scarlett's cousin Maiah, along with Scarlett's friends Maeve, Nicole, and her bestfriend Shanaiah, who were also present. However, she couldn't help but notice that Scarlett was nowhere in sight. 

"Hey, guys," she said, greeting them as she approached. "San si Scar? Bakit wala siya? Hindi ba siya pupunta ngayon?"

Maeve looked up as Jaycee arrived, a small frown on her face. "Oh, hey, Jaycee," she greeted. "Yeah, Scarlett isn't coming today. Nag text siya samin kanina na she wasn't feeling well and wouldn't be able to make it to class."

Maiah chimed in. "You know, now that I think about it, Mag isa lang si Scarlett sa dorm niya and since hindi siya okay ngayon. Maybe you could go check on her and see how she's doing?"

Jaycee's heart skipped a beat at the suggestion. She definitely wanted to see Scarlett, and she agreed with Maiah that it would be good for her to have someone check up on her.

"Yeah, that's a good idea," Jaycee agreed, trying to hide her eagerness. "Pwede ako pumunta. Pero paano yung class?"

Maiah smiled mischievously. "Paalam nalang kita sa instructor na hindi ka makaka attend ngayon. Take care of Scarlett for us, okay?"

Jaycee nodded and thanked Maiah, a feeling of excitement and nervousness welling up inside her. She was surprised that Maiah had suggested she go see Scarlett, but at the same time, she was grateful for the opportunity to be able to care for the girl she liked while she was feeling unwell.

After getting excused from class, Jaycee quickly headed towards Scarlett's dorm.

As Jaycee walked to Scarlett's dorm, her heart was pounding with excitement and nervousness. This was her chance to take care of Scarlett and show her how much she cared. She reached the door of Scarlett's dorms and took a deep breath before knocking gently.

"Scar?" she called out softly.

After a few moments, there was a shuffling sound from inside the dorm and the door opened slightly to reveal Scarlett, looking a bit pale and tired.

"Jaycee," she greeted softly. "Ano ginagawa mo dito?"

Jaycee tried to hide her concern as she saw the state Scarlett was in. "Sabi ni Maeve, may sakit ka, so I came to see how you were doing," she explained.

Scarlett smiled weakly. "That's kind of you," she said, leaning against the doorframe. "Hindi mo naman kailangang pumunta rito tsaka may class pa"

Jaycee waved her hand dismissively. "Don't worry about class, Scar . Kinausap naman ni Maiah yung instructor para i-excuse ako sa class, kaya andito ako para alagaan ka," she said with a smile.

Scarlett looked surprised but also grateful for Jaycee's concern. "You skipped class para lang alagaan ako?" she asked, almost incredulously.
