"It's completely packed in here. Do you know where the books we need are located?" Jacob asks.
"Well, Lockhart's books are near him, but the others should be located just up the steps." Isla responds.
"Divide and conquer. You and Isla get the books of Lockhart's we need. And I grab copies of the others." I offer.
"Seems easy enough, as long as Isla promises not to drool over the books while she moons over Lockart." Jacob jests.
Isla just shoves him in the shoulder before pushing her way through the crowd.
"Careful. One of these days, you'll tip her over the edge, and you'll wind up in the hospital wing." I advise.
Turning around, I weave through the crowd to get to the staircase.
"Magical Theory...magical theory...where is it?" I mutter to myself.
Scanning the shelves and balancing the growing stack of books in my hand was becoming increasingly more difficult.
"Hello, little raven," a familiar voice comes from the side of me.
"Adrian!"
I turn and hug him, my arms wrapping around his neck.
"Someone's excited to see me." He laughs.
"Of course, I'm excited! I haven't seen you since the end of last term."
Picking up the book on the top of the stack in my hands, he questions, "Taking Ancient Runes this term?"
"How did you know?" I smiled cheekily.
He scoffed in response and slung his arm around my shoulders.
"Come on, I have to meet with Isla and Jacob." I say and we start heading back down to the crowd below.
Just as we get to the top of the staircase, I see Mr. Weasley lunge towards Mr. Malfoy. He lands against one of the bookshelves, knocking the books down in a flurry of leather and paper. Other patrons move out of the way causing more chaos with shelves tumbling over. Before it could progress, Hagrid was between the two of them.
Mr. Malfoy shoved a book in Ginny's face, malice written in his eyes. He beckoned to Draco, and they left. The Weasleys, Harry, and Hermoine's family left shortly after.
I caught Isla and Jacob's attention at the back of the shop. Dragging Adrian with me, I meet them halfway.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I don't know. Everyone was clamoring towards Lockhart when a crashing sound rang through from the front of the shop." Isla responded.
"You were closer to the action." Jacob said at the same time.
"We only saw Mr. Weasley shove Mr. Malfoy into the shelves. I didn't hear what was said."
"Ask the twins. They'd probably tell you."
"Anyway, Adrian, mate, it's good to see you." Jacob acknowledges him and changes the topic.
"Good to see you. You too Isla."
"Adrian" Isla nods.
"Should we grab some butterbeers at the Leaky Cauldron before we all head home?" I ask.
A chorus of sures rang out.
