"NEVER IN MY LIFE!" COACH BELLOWED, waving his bat and knocking over a plate of apples. "Against the rules! Irresponsible!"

They seven of them all sat in the mess hall eating breakfast while watching Coach yell and scream about the previous night.

Jason and Piper were mostly relieved. Leo couldn't stop grinning and muttering, "Classic. Classic." Only Hazel seemed scandalized maybe because she was from the 1940s. She kept fanning her face and wouldn't meet Percy's eyes. Rio just stared down at his bowl, stirring what was left of his fruit loops around in circles.

If it was anyone else, Rio would've been laughing and cracking jokes with Leo, but this was Percy. They'd just started to get along, and then Rio had to go and fuck it all up. It was his fault Percy was getting in trouble, he'd invited him out. Even if he'd left, with Annabeth to replace him.

"Coach," Annabeth said. "it was an accident. We were talking, and we fell asleep."

Rio expected Percy or Annabeth to blame Rio. They had every right too. But neither of them even spared him a glance. It was like he wasn't even there.

"Besides," Percy said. "You're starting to sound like Terminus."

Hedge narrowed his eyes. "Is that an insult, Jackson? 'Cause I'll—I'll terminus you, buddy!"

Percy tried his hardest not to laugh. Rio really wanted him too. He loved Percy's laugh, it reminded him honey. Woah. Loved? "It won't happen again Coach. I promise. Now, don't we have other things to discuss?"

Hedge fumed. "Fine! But I'm watching you, Jackson. And you, Annabeth Chase, I thought you had more sense—"

Jason cleared his throat. "So grab some more food, everybody. Let's get started."

The meeting was like a war council with donuts. Percy told him about his dream. The same one he didn't tell Rio about.

Hazel choked back a sob. "Nico...Oh, gods. The seeds."

"You know what they are?"Annabeth asked.

Hazel nodded. "He showed them to me once. They're from out step-mother's garden."

"Your step...oh," Percy said. "You mean Persephone."

"The seeds are our last-resort food," Hazel said. Rio could tell she was nervous, because all the silverware on the table was starting to move towards her. "Only children as Hades can eat them. Nico always kept them in case he got stuck somewhere. But if he's imprisoned—"
