Tap. Tap. Tap.

Char was bored out of her mind, sitting in the back of the class, tapping along to an imaginary rhythm, instead of listening to what the teacher was saying. Something about a project? Or maybe it was just studying for another test.

She was much more preoccupied staring at the back of a certain girl's head, and the way it tilted and nodded along to what the teacher was explaining.

She scoffed. Of course the teacher's pet made sure to look as smart as possible. She probably didn't understand a bit of it.

Char tore off a bit of paper from her doodle-filled notebook and scrunched it into a ball. Taking aim, she threw it at Olive's head.

"What the-" Olive spun around with murder in her bright blue eyes. "Charlotte! Was that you?"

Char leaned back in her chair, a smirk on her face. "Liv darling, whatever made you assume such a thing?"

The blonde's glare only deepened. "I'm not your 'darling'."

"Oh really? Then who's darling are you?" She said, leaning towards her in curiosity. She'd never seen Olive hanging out with a boy before. Or seen her express interest in one. Not that she was watching.

"Well, wouldn't you like to know." Olive stated defiantly.

Char brushed some stray black hairs off her forehead and rested her chin in her palm. "Yes I would, actually. That's why I asked."

Seeing that she had no chance in winning the conversation, Liv turned back around with a huff.

Char smiled. She loved making Olive annoyed at any moment she could. There was always the way her eyes darkened just a bit and made them much more exciting than the plain blue that everyone had.

"Ms. Charlotte! Did you hear me?" Yelled the teacher.

Char snapped to attention. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Teacher. Could you repeat the question?"

The teacher sighed and mumbled something about not getting paid enough. "I said, you're going to be partnered with Ms. Olive for this project."

This surprised Char, as to why the teacher would put her prized student with the 'faliure' of the class.

As if she read her mind, Ms. Teacher continued. "As it seems that you have caused the downfall of all your past partners, I'm hoping that Ms. Olive will be able to help you get some real work in this time."

Char tried her best not to roll her eyes. It wasn't her fault that the work she handed in wasn't good enough for her. She needed to lower her standards. Not everyone is like Liv.

Speaking of Liv, she looked like she was ready to sue the school for partnering her with Char. But she said nothing and plastered a fake smile on her face for the teacher.

The class was dismissed and the teacher told everyone to meet up with their partner and create a plan for the next 2 weeks.

Char just grabbed her stuff and walked out of the room like normal, but Olive grabbed her arm as she was leaving.

"Where do you think you're going?" She hissed.

"Umm, to math class?"

"We need to plan for the project!"

"Oh, right. That."

Olive looked horrified. "I'm kidding, I'm kidding." Char laughed.

The blonde's rolled her eyes, her hand still holding onto Char's arm with a vise-like grip.

Char looked down at her hand. "You know, if you wanted to hold my hand, you could've just asked." She said jokingly.

The blonde snached her hand away like it was burned. "Like I would want to be anywhere near you." She opened her blue notebook- the calender one. "So, I'm free tomorrow from 5 to 8pm, Saturday from 11 to 2pm, and next Tuesday from 3 to 4pm. What about you?"

Char shrugged. "I'm free whenever, I guess."

"What? When do you do things?"

"Well, all I do is sleep, eat, go to school, and take my dog on walks. Oh, and violin classes. But that's only on Wednesdays."

Olive's notebook snapped shut."Wait, you play the violin?" She asked, surprised. "And your have a dog?"

"Yup, my dog's named Choupi. And I'm a great violin player." She boasted.

Liv raised an eyebrow. "I need to see that with my own eyes before I believe you."

"Fine then. We'll meet up at my place and I'll show you how great of a violinist I am."

"That works. For when?" She took out a pen and opened up her notebook again.

"Hmm, I don't know. I'll have to check." She lied. "I'll text you when we can meet up."

"But I don't have your number."

"Really? Here, gimme your phone." Olive pulled her phone out of her pocket and handed it to her. Char entered her contact and handed it back.

"There you go. I'll text you later. Darling." She added just to piss her off before leaving the class.

As she walked through the hallway, opened her phone and changed Olive's profile name to 'Nerd 🤓'. Then she sent her a text.
