Joelle turned around with a jerk when she heard the familiar voice.
"You're fast, Joel," the killer said out of breath. "Joel, quick," Derek begged. Joelle nodded and pulled on the ropes.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you. Do you really want to trust the obsessed boy?" the killer teased her. "Don't you know that history repeats itself?"
Joelle was startled as she began to recognize the voice, though she couldn't quite place it because of the adrenaline.
Joelle turned around slowly as the killer took off his mask.
Mickey.
They were right. Billy and Stu were right.
"Surprise, Joelle," Mickey said as he held the voice modifier in front of his mouth before throwing it away. "What the fuck?" Derek said scared. "Since Derek disappeared here on my ass tonight, I was on my own," Mickey said as he took off his ghostface costume.
"Thanks a lot, partner," Mickey said with a grin. "You motherfucker," Derek snapped. "Joelle, he's crazy. You know me better than that."
"Come on, Joel. I must have a partner, right? I couldn't have done this on my own," Mickey said with a teasing tone. Joelle frowned and took a few steps back from Derek. Maybe she was right, too; maybe Derek was the second killer.
"No, no, no," Derek pleaded when he saw Joelle's look. "It's okay, Derek. We've got her," Mickey said. "Joelle, he's lying! Joelle," Derek begged. "Joelle, untie me."
"Mhm, killer, innocent, killer, innocent," Mickey teased the two. "Joel, the man is lying!" Derek shouted hopelessly. "What do you think, Derek. Do you think Joelle is experiencing some deja vu?" Mickey teased him. "No! I'm going to fucking kill you!" Derek shouted angrily.
Joelle screamed as Mickey shot Derek in the chest. "No," she said with a shaky voice as tears welled up in her eyes. Joelle placed her hand on his chest to stop the bleeding, but it was hopeless. "I'm so sorry."
"I love you, Joel," Derek whispered. Mickey scowled and shot him through the head. Joelle screamed in fear and looked away.
"Now he can't anymore," Mickey laughed as he walked toward Joelle with the gun pointed at her. "And you really need to deal with your trust issues."
"I mean poor Derek. He was completely innocent and he was such a nice boy," Mickey said as he pointed at Derek's limp body with his gun. "He's smart, handsome and funny. Quite a good singing voice and he was going to be a doctor. This was exactly the type of boy you would show your best friend. If you had a best friend."
"Fuck you," Joelle snapped. "Oh, so vulgar. Did you let Billy and Stu talk to you like that?" asked Mickey as he pressed the gun against Joelle's chest. "No, but they weren't sick fucks like you," Joelle said angrily. "No, they were sick fucks who wanted to get away with it. Mickey is a sick fuck who wants to get caught," he explained.
Joelle frowned confused. "Don't frown like that, it ruins your pretty face," he teased her as he placed the gun on her forehead. Joelle angrily knocked the gun aside. "But you know, Joel. I already have it all planned out. I'm going to blame the movies. Pretty good, huh? No one else has ever done that."
"Movies don't create psycho's, movies make psycho's more creative," Joelle hissed. "What?" frowned Mickey.
Joelle kicked him in the balls and tried to run away, but he tackled her. "No, no. We're not going to do that," he said as he pushed her forward.
"I'm an innocent victim," Mickey said as he held the gun under her chin. "You're psychotic," Joelle hissed. "Well shh, that's our little secret," Mickey whispered as he held the gun under his mouth. "People are dying for a good trial, just like for a good movie. I worked so hard for this."
"That's what Billy was so good at. He knew it was all about execution," Mickey hissed as he pointed the gun at Joelle. "Yeah?" asked Joelle as she felt and grabbed a small bottle of perfume out her jacket pocket. "You're only forgetting one thing about Billy Loomis."
"And what's that?" asked Mickey curiously. "That he did all that shit for me," Joelle hissed. She grabbed her perfume bottle and sprayed the perfume in his eyes. Mickey screamed and clutched at his eyes as Joelle took off running.
Mickey quickly recovered himself and ran after the brunette. He grabbed her by the ankles causing the two to fall. The gun fell somewhere in the crowd.
Joelle kicked him in the face and then gave him another punch in the face.
Joelle wanted to run off the stage, but Mickey grabbed his knife and stopped her as he pressed the knife against her throat. "I don't think so," he hissed angrily as he tried to wipe away the blood at his nose.
Joelle gave him a shove and hid behind Derek. "Damn it, Joel. You're tougher than I thought," Mickey laughed as he held the knife out to her.
Joelle was startled when Derek was suddenly hoisted up. "Well who does that?" yelled Mickey as Joelle ran scared to the back. "Is that maybe the mystery guest backstage. I told you I had a partner, didn't I, Joel?"
Joelle turned around as she heard the door open. "Gale?" asked Joelle in disbelief. No, it couldn't be Gale. But then Randy's words echoed through her head.
Everyone is a suspect
Joelle's mouth fell open as soon as she saw who was walking after Gale with a gun in her hand.
"Mom?"
