Joelle and Randy had both been accepted to Windsor College. A college for people who love movies and musicals.
Joelle was still waiting every day for the two boys to call her. Randy told her she was crazy and that the boys don't know what love is, but she told him that he didn't get it.
The two had already made some new friends. Joelle was good friends with Mickey and Hallie. Hallie was her roommate and they enjoyed each other's company very much. And Mickey she had met during one of her classes.
Hallie had been trying to set Joelle up with Derek for weeks, but Joelle knew better. If Billy and Stu suddenly did show up that they would gut Derek. And she didn't want that on her conscience.
"Are you really going to the new Stab movie tonight?" Randy asked the Rhodes girl in surprise. "Yes, Randy," Joelle sighed as she walked through the building with the Meeks boy at her heels. "After everything we've been through you're going to that movie?" asked Randy confused. "Yes, Meeks. And don't worry, I just want to see how well I'm played," laughed Joelle.
"Don't worry so much, Meeks. She's a strong girl," Hallie defended her. "Thank you, Hallie. Bye Meeks!" shouted Joelle as she slammed her door. "Does he ever shut up?" Hallie asked Joelle with a sigh. "Nah, don't think so," laughed Joelle. "You guys know I can still hear you guys?" asked Randy from the other side of the door.
The two girls laughed and walked further into their shared room.
"So who are you going with tonight?" Hallie asked curiously. "Derek?"
"Nah, I'm going with Mickey," Joelle told her. "Why not with Derek? He is so charming and perfect," Hallie told her dreamily. "Nah, not my type," said Joelle quickly. "And it sounds like you want him."
"Nah, everyone knows he has the hots for you," Hallie told her with a wink. Joelle smiled. Hallie reminded her a lot of Tatum. Joelle almost had to cry again at the thought of the Riley girl but she kept her tears bottled up.
"So you and Mickey then?" asked Hallie to break the silence. "And before you say anything, he and I are just friends, Hal," laughed Joelle as she sat down on her bed. "Yeah right. But once again you have to look good in case Derek comes," said Hallie as she went through Joelle's closet.
Joelle sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. When is Hallie going to understand that she doesn't want anything to do with Derek? Not because he's not nice but for his safety.
Joelle stared at the phone again hoping for a call, but ofcourse, the boys hadn't called again.
"This one?" Hallie asked as she pulled out a silver glitter dress. "I'm going to a movie, not a party Hal," said Joelle as she rolled her eyes. "What if Derek shows up?" asked Hallie. "I don't want anything to do with Derek, okay? How many times do I have to say that?" sighed Joelle as she sprawled out on her bed.
"Okay, sorry. My bad," muttered Hallie in defense. "Sorry Hal. But I just have a lot on my mind and this might finally be a night where I don't have anything on my mind," Joelle told Hallie with a sigh. "I get it, Joel. I just want you to trust people again," Hallie told her. "It's not that I don't trust in Derek. It's just......I don't know," Joelle sighed.
"I get it. Have fun with Mickey tonight," said Hallie as she wiggled her eyebrows. "Shut up," laughed Joelle as she turned red and stuffed her face into a pillow. Hallie laughed and left the Rhodes girl alone to pick out an outfit.
