I hear the doorbell ring. I grab hold of Jason's hand and drag him to the door. We open it and there, standing in the doorway, is our parents.
'Aren't you going to going to let us in?' My mother questions. I nod, surprised and stand aside. They walk in and Jason asks them if they want any tea or coffee. 'Oh, Jason, darling, how you have grown up!' Cries his mother, ' I would like a tea, with 4 teaspoons of sugar. Oh, I know, it's my biggest weakness, sugar, I just can't get enough of it.' I sit down, on the very last chair. 'So, mum, why have you decided to come back? Wait, actually, why did you leave in the first place and leave me all alone? Do you know how many nights I spent crying myself to sleep waiting for you? I don't know how many, because I never counted. But I know that it was a lot. And you never came. I waited for twelve years for a mother, who never came.' I finish, breathing heavily, trying not to cry. Then, Jason stares at me ,as if he's willing me to tell her about him. I turn to Jason's parents. 'And you. You were worse. You left your only child, Jason, at five years old, with no relations, or family friends to talk to. Jason had to survive school bullies, relationships, disasters and all sorts, without anyone to help. Do you know how hard that is? Especially on such short notice. Have either of you been lost, with literally, NOBODY else there, to help, or have hope in. Because if you have, imagine that and strech it out for fourteen years. That's how Jason had to cope. He was an orphan with nowhere else to go. And since we are both like that, we met each other and something sparked between us. That turned into love and now, now, we are getting married. You can't stop us.' Jason holds me back and I start to cry. He pulls me in and hugs me, telling me that it'll be alright. Our parents just stare at the floor, guiltily.
