7: ʟᴇᴀʀɴɪɴɢ

SHRIMPO'S POV~
Many machines were already done, so it took us a while to find some unfinished ones. When we found one, i began smacking my head against it, being as effective as ever. Goob looked worried.

"Why won't you..." Asked Goob, reaching his hand out towards the machine.

"I've got it!" I shouted, smacking Goob's hand away.

"Perhaps you'd be much faster if you... Actually tried..."

"I HATE extracting Ichor!"

"I know... But don't you think this is a.. life or death situation? Please..." Said Goob, looking around, worried.

"Fine..." My voice softened as i let Goob place his hands onto mine and guide them. Once i got the rhythm and motion, the machine began filling incredibly fast.

"You're doing great!" Said Goob, surprised.

"...thanks."
I usually didn't like getting such compliments, but for some reason this time it made me feel accomplished. As the machine filled, i heard loud thumping footsteps.

"Run...!" Whispered Goob, scared.

Twisted Pebble's growling echoed around the room as he sniffed around after us. We sneaked away, trying to find the other few machines left.
We started quickly filling machines, as unseen as a shadow, cooperating easily.
Once the last one was done, we both ran towards the elevator. At my slower pace, i couldn't quite keep up, but Goob was right there to pull me inside.

When we both made it into the elevator, we sighed in relief. I tried to make the elevator go up, and after a few attempts it finally started lifting us.

"We... Actually did it!" Said Goob happily.

"Yeah... Just me and you."

Goob came over to me and pulled me into a hug. I didn't fight it. After such a tiring and scary experience, i actually found his hug quite comforting.
Noticing that I'm not complaining, Goob tightened his hug. I rolled my eyes but went on with it.

When we reached the top, the elevator door opened to where everyone was waiting for us. It took me a while to notice that i was seen hugging Goob by basically every Toon in Gardenview.

"I was... COLD... Whatever!"

I quickly ran off, trying to hide a slight smile.

GOOB'S POV~

Shrimpo finally let me hug him! I knew he was nice inside... Plus, he saved my life! I didn't even get to properly thank him...

"Goob! Ah... I'm so sorry... I know you can do stuff by yourself! But i care about you!"

My smile faded as i looked at Scraps.

"If you did, you'd have gone down after me! Out of all of you... Shrimpo was the one who came! The ONLY one! I'll go hang out with someone who actually cares."

I ran after Shrimpo. He probably went into his room.
I knocked at his door, getting a quick answer.

"Hey... Shrimpo, thanks"

"Don't... Thank me..." Said Shrimpo, obviously smiling while looking down.

Seeing Shrimpo smile at the sight of me made my day, i felt my anger go away.
I pulled him into another tight hug.

"Don't think that... Ugh! Don't think that you can just hug me anytime now!"

"Well, can i?"

Shrimpo stopped for a second, wrapping his hands around me too.

"...no! Let me go!" Said Shrimpo, tightening his hug.

"But.... You're the one hugging me." I giggled.

"...Right!" Shrimpo quickly let go, flustered.
"Well... Bye..."

"See you tomorrow!" I said happily before leaving his room.
