The temperatures were summer like again., Westin looked out the window. He was supposed to be driving Rachel home and spending time with her. He wanted to check on her, but all he got was "this profile is not available" and "this phone is not taking any calls right now. He wanted to say he was sorry and this was nit his decision, but Rebekah Jean was waiting for him at home. Rebekah came from a good family, lived in a good neighborhood. Rachel was a working girl. Went to work with her mom. She threw up though. Maybe what she thought was coming true. Just what they needed. The house was teeming with people anyway. Westin loved Rachel, but that house was
so dirty, dusty, and cluttered. Dirty clothes were strewn everywhere. It smelled musty and old. Their dog stank really bad. It was just not a good place to live.Rachel counted what was left, filled a few internet orders and cleaned. She was tired by noon though. She fell asleep in the office. Elise found her. "Yep, pregnant," she said to herself. "It is gonna be one crowded house." She put a blanket over her and let her sleep. From what she told her, that girl went through hell. Her mother turned out they light and went back into the store. She texted Gilbert that she was asleep and asked if he could bring Burger Barn. "Get a chocolate shake for Rachel," Elise told Gilbert.
His last class was over and he was ready to drive home. For a moment, he thought he saw Rachel wearing some dime store outfit with her littler tote bags that were worn and weathered, they were Vera Bradley from her mom's college days. He saw her pretty face looking up at him and smiling. However, it was empty steps and it was an empty room he walked by, but the last time they talked, she called him a "pussy". He began to cry. The day was sunny and surreal. This was going to be a ride to Endora but it was a ride to the suburbs, to the neural parsonage where he was living for a while. He walked in and his mother was sitting in the couch, She was having a good day.
"Hello, son," she said.
"Hi Mom," he said kissing her on the cheek.
"Did you break up with her?"
"Yes."
"Good. Rebekah comes from a good family. You will adore her. She is pretty and godly."
"And not a dirty house. I was so scared to sleep there."
"They are the dirty family of the city.Rachel woke up. She walked out to the floor. She was so hungry for one of the artisan pickles someone made. She asked her mom for one. Her mom cringed. "Yep. Pregnant," she said to herself. She wanted to cry. This was her girl. Gilbert brought lunch and they all ate. It was nice to have their girl come home. She seemed so sad though. In the suburbs, Westin took his mom to lunch. She was having a good day. There was no crying or cussing. She told him all about Rebekah. She was a "nice, Christian, girl", but all Westin could think about was eating her out, the way she tasted and the way she came so fast. He was thinking about making love to her while she described Rebekah. "She is blonde. She is so pretty. She loves Jesus and her family is of good stock. Good, Christian stock."
They closed the store and went home. It was a typical early fall Wednesday. Bonnie was chatting all day. She loved this their sister was home. She really missed talking to her.
"It'll be okay," she told her sister. Her sister was crying.
"I hope so," she said looking out the window.
"It's our ably best. Mama said her mom isn't very nice."
"No. She isn't. Please don't say anything, but I think I am pregnant."
"What are you going to do?"
"I want to have it, but I can 't tell them yet."
"I won't tell. You have never ratted on me."Arianna got in the house. She came to the room for a few things and it was empty. "The little hick left" and in a way, she felt really bad. She heard that fundie broke up with her. "Poor kid. Probably couldn't take it," she said. The she felt bad because she could have been nice to her. She really could have."
"Are you going back to school?"
"I think the community college."
"That way you can be home, and anyway, I would help with the baby,"
"I know you would."They were close as sisters. They loved each other.
Again, she sat by Arnie, who flipped corn on her. Arnie still had his bib on from adult daycare in a neighboring city. Elise took him every morning when she took the kids to school. However, it was better than school and the food at school. Arnie played with her hands. "You're pretty, Rachel" and she began to cry again, While washing dishes and watching the setting sun, her mother asked if she was okay and she said, "Yes". Elise has her doubts and again she brought it to her husband's attention.
She turned the sconce off and got into bed. She smiled.
"Gilbert, we are going to be grandparents," she said.
"How so?"
"The way she is being emotional. She fell asleep at the shop. Gilbert, this house is going to be filled to the gills."
"If she is, she is. I hope she doesn't go back to that pussy. Did you know she called him that?"
"Wow!"She was just going to have to get Rachel to admit it. Maybe a baby would be good around here.
