Ten days later the group are held up in an old ramshackled house, trying to cheer the other two up while initiating a conversation Jay says "What a fucking dump am I right"? Jason looks at him and responds "This dump was our home before all of this".
He stands to his feet before continuing "Jay can we step outside I need to talk to you alone" gesturing towards the door. They both walk outside to converse while Lex sleeps in one of the two very tiny rooms.
Once outside Jason pulls out a map and lays it on the dilapidated porch before pointing to a spot on the left side "This is where we are" He says boldly "the last I heard from anyone else before you was three years ago" He continues "A man and his husband.. they said there was this huge fuckin mega shelter, some fuckin fantasy theme park shit.. had big ass walls surrounding the place" He looks at Jay with a stern cold look and says "Creed city is what they call it now... We can make it".
Jay picks up the map and studies it, looking over every road, marking every path in his mind. He puts the map down and let's out a deep sigh before looking at Jason and replying "no man.. we can't.. that's 200 miles away, we have no car, no gas, barley any fucking food.. we'd starve before we even got close". Jason snatches up the map and stands straight up saying "to fuckin hell with you then, it's to fuckin dangerous to fuckin stay here and Lex is fuckin pregnant now I'm not risking-" He stops his sentence there as something starts rustling in the nearby woods. Jason reaching his weapon, Jay follows suit and takes a stance.
Watching the scrubs tremble and shake Jason gets ready to fire when out comes a young lady, seeming to be around twenty to twenty-five in age and having brown hair, darker skin as if from a foreign descent despite speaking perfect english, and dark blue-green eyes. It was the same lady that had apologized for Vulders murder of Bob, Jason aims his weapon right at her face and Jay forces her to the ground, both men standing over her she looks on with fear in her tear ridden eyes. Jason lets out a deep and fierce almost ground shaking voice of a yell asking the girl "HOW THE FUCK DID YOU FIND US!? WHERE'S THE REST OF YOUR GROUP? WHERE'S VULDER BITCH"!
Jay backs Jason up a few feet and says "Jason chill the fuck out, give the girl a chance to answer" He then turns back to the girl and ask her one of Jason's questions "How did you find us"? The young girl looks at Jason then at Jay and says "I've been looking for you guys for days... It's just me.. no one else I swear, I came here to rest and you guys just so happened to be here". Jason interrupts and ask "what the fuck do you want with us? Murderer". She looks at him angrily and sharply snaps "I'm not a fucking murderer prick". Jason goes to hit the girl with the but of his weapon when Lexus steps out of the house and yells "back the fuck up".
Jason looks at Lex surprised and ask in a soft calm voice "what are you doing out here Lex... It isn't safe for you".. She replies "what the fuck were you gonna do to this poor girl Jason? Have you lost your fucking mind"? He stands there looking dumbfounded, clearly striken with remorse and guilt once he hears these words he utters "I'm sorry" before bowing his head in sorrow and walking away. Lexus walks over to the lady on the ground and helps her to her feet, she then helps the woman dust off and ask for her name, the young lady responds "Laura.. I'm Laura.." Lex says it's nice to meet her and follows that up with "Now what the fuck do you want"?
Laura responds and says "I wanted to say I'm so so sorry about what Vulder did.. what he made.. your friend do.. I wanted you to know that not everyone with Vulder is.. with Vulder... There's good people there doing what they can to make it like the rest of us".
Lex says "Noted, now get the fuck out of here" Laura tenses and replies "you don't fucking understand.. I left, I defected and... I.. I.." Jay chimes in angrily "You fuckin what"?!
"I cut off his fucking arm.. the one he used to weild that fucking axe of his.. if I go back he'll gut me and use my intestines to choke me to death.. I can never go back". Jason walks back up and hearing this he also chimes in "well you sure as shit can't stay with us, we don't have the food, the water, anything.. now I'm sorry I tried to... But you can't stay with us we just don't have the resources I'm sorry..." Laura perks up "I can get you everything you need and more" this gets the group interested and they all have questions of their own.
Jason and Jay leave Lex to ask Laura questions while they tend to the hard decisions in the house. "So... You still think we won't make this trip"? Jason asks obviously more relaxed then he had been at all since Bob's death. Jay answers with "I mean.. if she's telling the truth and who knows uh ya know if she is or.. or not.." Jason looks out the window at the weekend before talking back to Jay. "I was gonna kill her Jay.. I was.. I was gonna split her skull wide open... Crush it.. and watch her die".
Jay assures Jason that anyone in his situation would've done the same. Jason takes note in his mind on how Jay talked him down and decided he was more grateful for that than anything anyone else has ever done or ever will do for him, that moment he decided, Jay was who they needed, This was a true friend. In that time Jay decided if Creed city is where Jason thought Lexus would be safe, that's where he would get his new family to, no matter the cost. "So Lex is pregnant uh?.. Does that make me uncle Jay now"? Jay says with a smile.
