The next morning rolled around in what seemed like a blink of an eye. Kate and Fallon were sharing a room at the motel, and when their alarm clock went off around eight in the morning, they both took turns showering.

Fallon made sure to feed CJ and take him for a good walk before setting off again with Javi.

Just like yesterday, he took them to another gas station in the middle of nowhere, except this time, there was a diner attached to it so everyone was able to get a good breakfast in.

The lot was full of the same people as yesterday—StormPAR, Tyler Owen's crew, and their fans.

Currently, Fallon was standing outside the diner, leaning against the wall as she was talking on the phone with her grandmother, who had called to check in.

"Have you talked to your parents yet?" Ruth asked, her tone dubious.

"Not yet," Fallon said truthfully, glancing at CJ lying beside her feet. "I haven't even told them I'm in Oklahoma."

"Well, you need to, Lonnie. It's been too long since you've last seen them. They're getting old."

"I know, Gran... I've just been busy," she expressed with a sigh. "Once we get this tornado business out of the way, Kate, Javi, and I are gonna head up to Tulsa and see them."

"All right, just be careful," Ruth told her. "Remember to take care of yourself, and CJ too."

"I will," Fallon assured. "I'll talk to you later, okay? Love you."

"Love you too, hon."

With that, Fallon ended the call and slid her phone into the back pocket of her jean shorts.

She looked up at the blue sky, not many clouds were out, save the one forming in the northwest. A memory of her father flashed in her mind. Bill showed her a way to determine which direction a tornado would likely form by palming some dirt and allowing the wind to blow it in whichever way nature desired.

Fallon wasn't sure how useful the trick would be now with all these gadgets that have been invented in the last few years.

Speaking of gadgets, up by the gas pumps, she saw Lily seated at a wooden bench, tinkering with what looked like an airplane-shaped drone. And Boone was standing next to her, filming with his large-and-in-charge camera.
